Spirit Halloween was my exact reaction when I saw the design of the green one. I was one of the folks that vocally wanted more dragon shield design inspiration in the v1 but this was not at all what I had in mind.
@@spideylover4105 I've seen a lot of comments from people on social media who more or less want SuperX to be CostumeX. I hope they don't go that way, though, because if they do it's the end of the line for me.
@bchang220 they're pretty adamant that they don't wanna be full-on cosplay, this is an exception. Plus most of their stuff in the past wasn't officially licensed so legally they couldn't make it too costumey or they'd get sued
The homemade chart took me why is it so accurate on the green ranger hoodie. As a MMPR fan I got the v1 green ranger suit based on ur review. Ordered the white and think its more wearable to the gym but still bold and inspired by with the power coin emblem
I am a die hard Power Rangers fan from the beginning from MMPR. I was very excited from some the concept drawings for the different versions. This hoodie in my opinion is definitely more cosplay level. I wouldn't wear it to the gym. I'm passing on this hoodie. I'm on the fence on the white ranger as well because of the hoodie. I really love the joggers though.
There's definitely a difference between seeing a concept and seeing a product in real life. Not everything translates over the same unfortunately. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Completely agree with you on all points regarding the appeal of SuperX vs other brands/clothes. Im a huge MMPR fan(grew up with the show, literally have the whole team in figure form in my office) but I also take my time in the gym seriously; this is a pass for me for precisely the reasons you laid out. It just looks way too much like a costume as opposed to the more balanced look I appreciate from SuperX on their other designs. Quality looks great, review is great as always; thanks again Jemil
That Green Ranger dragon shield hoodie is absolute fire. I can't wait to unzip it and reveal the longsleeve underneath. I picked up the White and Green suits. I will be wearing those big bold designs right into LA Fitness no shame at all. That said, I'm very secure and in a long term relationship and my girl fully encourages my nerdy side. The entire power ranger line is 100% kitty repellent, lol. If anyone is selling the Green pullover hoodie hmu, my order got messed up and I'm trying to complete that set. Will drop 200 for the hoodie. I wear a Large (size is non negotiable)
Not a hard core MMPR fan but yeah this hoodie is definitely a bold and loud design unlike the others. It’s cool that SuperX is trying something new so we’ll just have to see how it goes I guess
Thank you for your non biased and honest opinion! I appreciate it that. That dragonshield green hoodie is dope but I don’t like the zip up on the hoodie like I couldn’t wear a zip up to workout. That is my personal opinion and I agree it’s def party city/ spirit Halloween costumie
Yo I'm a ranger fan and your last video was my desiding facter of ordering a suit. I got the v1 green and than the blue when it came out. the v2 green ranger hoodie looks cool but like you said i could only see myself wearing it as an event type thing. gnna do a order of the white ranger suit now. Going forward I hope super X continue to add little things like the power coins and snake eyes emblem to their suits so those who know can really be like oh yeah thats Inspired by that character
I don't buy super suits based on your reviews. But MOST DEFINITELY look for your reviews. They are the most legit on these super suits. I dig the V2 Green Ranger hoodie but like you said, its crossing over cosplay levels. I buy these to workout. The V1's are perfect.
Hey man, I am commenting as a PR fan. I think you are right in general across all points in your review, but as a fan, the higher similarity to the costume would not make me wary in wearing it at a commercial gym. It can be seen as Party City or Con material, but I also believe i would not stand out as a crazy person. I don't get insecure like that if it's something i believe in. At the onset, I feel it's energy and positivity from the show, and as an athlete it will just make me feel more thorough wearing it. JDF had to"perform" in that real outfit ya know? Just putting my perspective out there. I think it's legit, a tough suit.

Also I put a lot of time and effort into every review (filming the talking head shots, b roll, and editing) I don't just like slapping stuff together. I'm actually already working on the review for the next drop that's coming out next month 😂
I am a Power Rangers fan from back when I was a kid and this wave I'm not as excited for. I am the type of person who would wear the Ranger drops casually out and about and not just to the gym. To me the Zipper on the Green and White Ranger inspired Hoodies hurts the design. I got the V1 Green Ranger Hoodie and as pullover I love it. When you add the shield to both Green and White as a Zip-up Hoodie it hurts the ascetic of the look. I really feel they should have been pullover hoodies. I do like how the black panels for the shield look on the fron of the White Ranger inspired Hoodie. It reminds me of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie version of the suit for the design. I only wish that that the black panel continued further down the back and was the same length as the front panels. I do really love the Fabric, it's super comfortable to wear anytime. Great for around the house, outside, or the gym.
I’ve been purchasing from SUPERX for the past year and a half now, but these new Power Ranger designs are just awful. Can we bring back the Tony Stark type of designs SUPERX first started coming out with??
@izzysan4013 not really. They're expensive to design, expensive to make, and they sell out every time. 🤷🏻♂️ This is performance gear. Look up how much nike charges for their sportswear
Everyone and I mean everyone complained when the first green ranger suit came out. “This isn’t the real green ranger it’s missing the shield” now the complaint is that it’s too cartoony. I’m not saying you Jemil but the comment section is saying it a lot
Both things can be true at the same time. Just because the v1 design needed some inspiration from the shield doesn't mean they needed to put a literal shield on it. Look at the Kent v1 - Superman's cape is a pretty iconic part of his costume, but SuperX figured out how to reference the cape on the hoodie without putting an actual cape on it. That's the kind of design inspiration I was looking for and usually expect from SuperX, not leapfrogging straight into cosplay territory.
