Teoh, this may be your best sketch yet. I thought you could have stopped painting at many points but each time you applied more color or another or shadow, well, you just blew my mind. Great narration, by the way. I always learn from you.
This was a really helpful video! Thanks for explaining the tips, why we should do something if we want a certain results and how to achieve them :) Always enjoy your videos!
The ‘mistake is not that big, it just gives the view if you were closer to the ground. So it reads as authentic anyway. I notice always you put in something very boldly in the foreground, which you seem to reference other elements from I am always fascinated by this because sometimes it is not a detail of the main subject but something else. In this case the lamp post. I am useless at finding such devices, so watch with admiration as you create something that you can hinge things on. Were you taught this way or did you develop this to suit your loose style? Love the end result. Indian stores look a bit like this the world over!
Generally speaking, as long as there are overlapping elements and dimensionality (usually from perspective), the sketch should look good. Not sure how I should describe my style. I guess I draw like this because it's fast to sketch loosely.
i love it! may i ask where you get the waterproof fountain pen/ink? ive been trying to find a brush pen that's water resistant and ive got no great success yet
🎈 I'd like to ask about granulating watercolors vs. chalkiness. I often hear people complaining about a color being "a bit chalky" but I do not really understand what's the difference, and everyone is praising granulating watercolors for their unique look. I recently bought a very cheap watercolor set for the metal case and the colors are surprisingly bright and some of them are really interesting colors which I would gladly use. They are semi-opaque and of course probably very bad quality and look "chalky". At least my first thought was: okay, so probably this is "chalkiness". But I would love to learn your thoughts. 🎈😊
@@teohyc Thank you. :) If you think it's a good idea, maybe once, if you can, put a granulating color and a chalky color next to each other in a video of yours to show the difference. I would really love to see it.
