It seems like a great machine!!! I know you are way busy but a good juice off would be between this machine and the Omega NC900HD series. I am biased but I think my Omega seems way easier to clean. On a side note you are phenomenal at this work. Thank you so much for your care and compassion towards your viewers!!

800 bucks for the old girl. This the way to go for anybody who really wants to be favorably impressed with the juicing process. I have some cilantro that is PRETTY fibrous and tough, yet the flavor is just incredible. Indispensable ingredient in my juices. Other faves are ginger, lemon, and fennel. If you have not used fennel this way to make a soup... with an assortment of asian greens... takes savory to the next level.

I love that they finally made a stainless steel set of gears. We customers have to let them know we need stainless steel instead of plastic. John, that top housing is useless , dont you think? They could make a greenstar without that.. and just put the funnel on the top of the drum. It would make it a lot easier to clean and more compact. Of course all the parts should need to be redesigned in order to look beautiful.

Finally :-D. I was waiting for that kind of machine for a long time. I was looking for an alternative for the angel juicer and i was almost about to buy the Greenstar Elite, but now i'm glad i didn't. Thank you John ;-).

I use a wet twisted paper towel for the gear insert and I wet the white flat brush and brush around it. And we can order the parts for the Green Star Elite!!! It's almost like owning the pro! Thanks John!! #winning

Nice video. I wish they had some kind of washer on the machine so you don't have to clean that part against the housing. I like to take everything apart and dump it all in the sink. So it does indeed take a tad more time to clean.

This machine actually does come with a small washer to put on the motor shaft to keep it a little cleaner.

If you will read my comment above I shared a little trick I learned from Tribest. You pull everything off, put your machine next to the sink(kinda hanging over), tip the machine and use your sprayer hose to spray out the holes and around the housing(it doesn't wet anything but the area where the gears are). I share another time saving tip I learned form them also(above).

Regarding your mention of vacuum blenders near the end -- YES!! I am jonesing bad for a good vacuum blender. I hope Vitamix jumps on this hard and fast.

Yes, long ago. Im not a fan. I would rather have this Green Star Pro for 1/2 the price, and use the other 1/2 of the money to grow a garden.

John, forgive me if you've already answered this question, but did you ever do a juice off with the green star elite and the Omega nc900? I think you did with one of the older models in the past, but not with the nc900 which is supposed to have some updates, if I'm remembering correctly. Would still love to see that. Yep, the plastic on one of my gears is cracked also. A little piece is missing but it just keeps on ticking LOL I purchased in 2010. A trick I learn from Tribest: When done, remove the knob, turn the machine on, use your sprayer attachment on the sink and spray water in the feed chute. It will flush the machine out. Shoot some water and let it run and keep repeating after it runs a bit. I do this about 10 times and it really helps. They also taught me that to bend/lean the juicer over the edge of the sink, use sprayer hose and spray out where the gears attach to the machine. Then all I do is wipe it down. Then scrub the machine, which is still no small feat! I'm going to call and see if I can get one of those scrapers. And, for sure I have used so many different juicers and there is nothing like the juice and yield that comes from the GSE! It's a powerhouse!

the nc800 and nc900 are identical. I have not yet made a video comparing these two machines, but see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjv3La2wAyM.html which the solostar 4 is similar to the nc800/nc900

Thx! I got a great deal on my GSE back in 2010 for only 500.00 and that included all the extra attachments and a nut bag. When mine goes I am seriously considering the one GS Pro now. It's so expensive but it looks amazing.

I still can't make a decision: The Pro will make the juice much faster with a much higher price tag (plus tiny bit more juice but more foam, as could be seen in other videos, thus more oxidation?). The Omega will be faster to clean. If I have to make 4 cups 4 times daily or 2 cups 8 times daily ... which one will make me happier down the road?

Depends on your situation. I personally would go with the Green Star Pro: - larger feed chute - larger gears -more durable

Can we buy the screen cleaner separately? I have the Green Star Elite (recommended by your videos!), and while it's not super difficult to clean the screen, if this is cheap enough, why not!

Where is this juicer designed and made in? Is the stainless steel happened to be recycled ss? Does it do fruit ice-cream as well as the Champion 2000+ which you were raving about? Can it do leafy greens well? Thanks John!

This Juice is Made in South Korea. I believe they use virgin Stainless Steel. Personally, the "ice cream" is better in a Champion because it injects air into the mixture and "fluffs" it up; which consequently is bad when making juice in the Champion, as it causes more oxidation. The GS-Pro can juice leafy greens, but I recommend juicing them with root vegetables in the GS-Pro. If you want to juice straight leafy greens, the pro can easily do it, but tends to produce excess foam. If you want to juice mostly leafy greens without anything else, go for the Solostar 4 machine, which is better for straight leafy greens.

We have no plans at this time. That appears to be an inexpensive juicer made in China, with a short warranty. In general when I have tested low-cost machines, they have not performed as well as name brand machines.

How's it for nut butters and nut milks?

It does a great job at grinding nuts. Its best for roasted nuts that have good oil content, as this nut butter will stick together easily. If processing raw nuts, for example, it is so powerful, it will make a "nut flour" due to the lower oil content in raw nuts, so you can add some oil to the nut butter or feed the nut powder back thru the juicer about 5-6 times and it will start to stick together better. After doing so, it will be spreadable, but not like a store bought nut butter that is "drippy". On nut milks, it does a great job. It works the same as the green star elite. Its similar to the green star (non-elite) but I prefer the elite and pro models due to some major improvements.
