Paul Gilbert playing Green-Tinted Sixties Mind. Recorded May 26, 2019, in Lawrence, Kansas at the Bottleneck on tour for his new album Behold Electric Guitar.
You know he's a true virtuoso because he makes it look fun and easy. Plus tap, pick, slide, and make the instrument sing with emotion. He's so criminally underappreciated for his feel, creativity and musicianship. He's so much more than just another speedy shredder.
Indeed. I personally think that Paul Gilbert is as good as anyone could ever hope to be. He should be mentioned any time there is a top guitarist discussion.
I'd have to disagree. I'm 44 and since I was a kid he's always been very highly rated as one of the best shredders out there. I might be slightly out of touch but PG is still pretty amazing by today's standards, has a strong carreer and gets a lot of love from what I can see. 👍
Underrated my ass. Just the fact that you know how good he is, is proof enough of how highly he's rated. This can't be the first time you've seen and appreciated Paul Gilbert, is it?
just perfection.....everything you could ever want to be in a Rock guitarist.....style, phrasing, feel, speed, technique, humor.....Ladies and Gentlemen - senior Gilberto RULES!!!!!
Andrew Crisp really love his innovation of putting a magnet for the slide there. what gauge does he use? I wonder if he’a got high action for that slide and still be able to play fast runs. Well, it wouldn’t surprise me if he can pull it off, he’s the Paul Gilbert.
My favorite Mr. Big song. I didn’t think it could get any better but man that slide part was phenomenal. Is it me or that does Paul’s fingers look like they belong to an alien.
It was maybe 200 people. Very small bar venue. He even said it was his first US solo tour. He never really caugbt on here like he did in Japan, I guess.
This guy would "ice" any one on the guitar. He's done it all. Its' nice to see him do what he chooses to do now. I have all the respect in the world for Mr. Paul Gilbert. He's a monster player.
The true genius of Paul Gilbert...his abilty to SEAMLESSLY weave ANY STYLE or GENRE and bounce from technique to technique without appearing to be too showy!! It all SOUND MUSICAL as opposed to self indulgent. Topped off with a severe dose of humility and appreciation for his status and ability to earn a living. Class act!!
Wow, after all the times I listened to this song it just never gets old. I love the tap and drag on the fretboard in the beginning it just gets it for me.
Wow, it is very touching version of Green-tinted Sixties Mind. It is even more beautiful without vocal and only with guitar. I adore Paul Gilbert, one of the best guitarists who've ever existed on earth.
Bom ver este grande guitarrista novamente. Curtia muito o Mr Big na juventude. Como esquecer as canções e os grandes acordes da banda que marcou muitos jovens de minha época? impossível!
Paul Gilbert is definitely the chameleon of Guitar!!! He shreds feaster than Michel Angelo Batio & Yngwie Malmsteen & he also plays slide like Derrick Trucks!!!! The guy is a GENIUS!!!
