No it's not venomous or poisonous. Although they do technically have a "mild" venom, they do not have front fangs to inject the venom. These are rear fanged like a hognose or a mangrove snake. Their "venom" has to be chewed in and it does NOT harm humans unless you're allergic.

The scientific name is Oxybelis fulgidus and it comes from the Greek word ((oxybeles)) meaning to be sharp pointed. It is also referred to Asian green vine snake or the long-nosed whip snake. I believe the Species to be Ahaetulla And the family is colubridae. They are considered to be mildly venomous and much like the boom slang snake they are ((opisthoglyphous,)) meaning they have elongated, grooved teeth located in the back of their upper jaws, often called "rear-fanged". fanged snakes. However the boomslangs venom is much much much more potent and deadly.
