Ha i just noticed the nice scalloped hold for the bow thruster, i suppose that's the right way to do it. These electric boats are just right like a chevy volt. :-)
I REALLY want this boat to do the Great Loop! The only thing I would want would be to get rid of the sunroof and add more solar panels. I also am not a fan of the folding transom. I would rather have a fixed transom, large swim platform, and a walk through door.
@Slippery Storm 11.5kw is a LOT of battery! Remember, this is a built pack using 18650 or similar cells, just like a Tesla powerwall (13.5kwh I think) With 22KW of battery and 1800W or so of solar, one could anchor out for 6 or more days without using any Diesel! This is assuming typical AC, refrigeration, and appliance use! If you are in a temperate climate and open the windows, you could literally NEVER need to crank up the diesel! For me, I am from Florida, so I'd be running the AC like an Eskimo in Jamaica, cooking like crazy, and cruising the no wake zones on the E-Motor, so the extra pack would be required. I have found NO other boat that comes close to the efficiency of this one, with the single head layout, and huge enclosed cockpit, without going with something that would easily cost 7 figures and have a draft too deep for the loop.
