Alas my love, you do me wrong To cast me off discourteously For I have loved you well and long Delighting in your company Greensleeves was all my joy Greensleeves was my delight Greensleeves was my heart of gold And who but my lady Greensleeves Your vows you’ve broken like my heart Oh,why did you so enrapture me Now I remain in a world apart And my heart remains in captivity Greensleeves was all my joy Greensleeves was my delight Greensleeves was my heart of gold And who but my lady Greensleeves Ah,Greensleeves, not farewell, adieu To God I pray to prosper thee For I am still thy lover true Come once again and love me Greensleeves was all my joy Greensleeves was my delight Greensleeves was my heart of gold And who but my lady Greensleeves the lyrics
Your Lord is here. The faithful devotee in the whole of the world is here she is of your world but I am not I listen to music gives me so much peace but I know I have my leads out there to bring me out
God has nothing to do with this song. Take the Bible the craziest Book ever written whose link are the Quran and the new Evangelica and then you will learn who is your God: a fool, a criminal of the worst kind. There’s no god. There’s only reason, nature and science
This is the only song I could humm to my son when he was a baby to get him sleep. He hears song now and still loves it. And my mother sang this song to me as a child. It's a song that will be forever ageless
The family dog recently died This morning I dreamed he was walking beside me and this song was playing. it was the most beautiful version of the green sleeves I ever heard. I went to RU-vid and looked it up and it was the first song I found it, it was this version although I’ve never heard it before.
Nicely done, great version, sounds great and matching photos to go with it for a good mind's eye of the times back then.. I'll be back to listen and watch again too, liked and subscribed.. Thank you for creating this and posting it for so many to enjoy...
The comfort of this masterpiece is equal to that of a mother's lullaby , and It's full of nostalgia, and pathos , and emotion From Tokyo where young leaves are fragrant
I often come back here to hear this, especially the magical beginning with magical background pics. I tried to buy this track on iTunes in Japan but could not find it. This version of the song is forever ingrained in my heart. I listened to countless versions in iTunes and nothing matches it. In ode to the family German Shepherd "Kuro"!
I remember playing this in Band. 3A military marching during concert season ❤❤❤😊 Center High School, Center Texas. Mr. Grant nothing but love and appreciation
Dear Gabriele, thank you very much for what you are doing for us, it's amazing. Music is amazing! I am writing, following music... And I would like to take exactly this version of Greensleeves as a soundtrack for a booktrailer for my book. It's a book about love, betrayal and philosophy of life and being in this world... Would you be so kind to give me permission for using your music? Thank you.
I do believe if you dislike this masterpiece you're not human. Is it true HenryxIII wrote this? If so I guess he's like most men in hiding their sesenitivity
The Legend says he wrote this for Anna Bolena. This is possible since many nobles dabbled in music and poetry, even the founder of the troubadour movement was a nobleman (William of Aquitaine)
@@DrDLL99 They do. This piece is by Ralph Vaughn Williams and is titled "Fantasia on Greensleeves". He was born during the Victorian era and died in the late 1950s. He simply wrote the piece in a medieval style, basing it on an imported Italian style of music that was popular during the reign of Elizabeth the first.
