Hu Man is an exploration of self and our attachment to identity, especially in this modern age. Hu Man is a war cry from the battlefield of mind, calling to the divine Mother to take this ego, take this head, to remove all these words and man made constructs and take me, take us, back to centre. Back to oneness, forward to unity. In Lak'ech Ala K'in, I am you you are me, is a Mayan saying I encountered during a Ceremony in Mexico and it's stayed with me always. I find it very fitting for the times we find ourselves in, such shifting paradigms. Hu Man is an offering of peace and healing to the collective in these intense times, and I pray it takes people inside themselves if for only just a moment.

I just realized the bird call in the beginning is a recording of the last Kaua’i ‘ō’ō bird. It was a male singing his mating call, waiting for a female to reply- not knowing he is the last bird of his species. Such a small detail.. I had the opportunity and the pleasure to meet this goddess in person. It was many years ago, I was not even aware of who she was and with time I understood how important this was in the moment. Hello. I noticed your profile on here and a question arose in my mind. How has this whole lockdown thing impacted your life? For me it really impacted my exercise routine. I use to go to the gym a lot and was getting in good shape and then the lockdown happaned. For the first couple of weeks I trained at home with 2x55lbs dumbbells I had however I soon got bored. Once I started reping past 20 reps I just lost motivation. Also my healthy diet went to the wayside. I'm back on my training now however getting my diet back on track has been difficult.

Beautiful song, and such and important topic. Identity politics is ruining our societies. People only care about the things they can identify with, ignoring and marginalising those they see as against their values. We have so much more in common than we're led to believe. We need to remember that those who have power and wealth are the able to create real change, to improve all of our lives. Instead they want us to aspire to their status, hoping for our own material benefits, instead of fixing the divisions and suffering that would cost them so little. Be kind to your other humans, even if you disagree with them, and support leaders who represent the little people. Biggie said money and blood don't mix, but where there's money there's also a lot of blood.

Only heard this song recently but it feels so deeply familiar- among other reasons because Peng uses an amazing symbolic language that goes to the root of how we communicate. Beautiful :)
