Had both lines not showing. Spent forever looking for help until I found this. Showed exactly how to get cover off and then able to get lines reloaded. THANK YOU

Oh thank you. So glad you popped up. I needed a female user to help me get it apart. The men never suggested using a screw driver to get the top off. My fingers cannot push hard enough to loosen it.
This is the hard way to do it. When it breaks off open the head and remove the string then the-assemble the head. Finally line-up the tabs with the eyelets and push the string through then wind it.
This is a GREAT video! I tried to restring my new Greenworks trimmer; COMPLETE FAIL!! I watched this video, and 5 minutes later (or less) I had successfully installed new 'string'. Many thanks Jenna!
Hi. Mine is brand new trimmer that I bought today. After using it for 15 min, the string on both sides was short. I tried to bump it to see if the string will go longer, but no success. Does it mean i am running out of string and need to put more string in it? I need to refill trimmer line? Thanks.
Hi, There are two cases: one is the string is stuck, two is empty, Now you take it out , if it’s empty you need to put the new string in, and continue cutting the grass. Good luck 😍
@@JennaHo ok thanks. This trimmer is bump or tap on ground to get more string right? Basically tap it as i use it like other trimmers or do i just wait till no strung left or short string to know when it’s time to replace?
@@inquisitvem6723 So, I used my new trimmer for the first time yesterday and I'm also struggling to understand how the "bump" or "tap" on the ground works. I tried bumping it pretty hard on the ground, and I can't seem to see how much (if any) additional string is being played out when I bump it. I don't see it working at all. What Jenna shows in this video, is she lays the trimmer down on the ground, and, using her knee, she pushes in the head. Then, using both hands, she's pulling more string out. I guess that's one way to do it, but I'd prefer figuring out how the "bump" method is supposed to work (like other trimmers).
@@inquisitvem6723 Ok, so just an update from my last post. I disassembled my trimmer's string head to investigate why the "bump" feature might not be working well. I immediately saw that the way the trimmer string was wrapped around the axle, it seemed like one end of the string was wrapped around itself in a way that would not have enabled it to feed out more line. I know that sounds hard to understand, but I decided to unwind the entire thing and re-string it the way Jenna shows in the video. However, it's difficult to know if I didn't re-wrap it around itself when I put it all back together, because you can't see anything as you're winding it up. Anyway, once I had it all reassembled, I tried to "bump" it again and it just doesn't seem to feed out the additional line. I think the whole apparatus is supposed to be spring loaded in a way that if you push it in, it should rotate in one direction and therefore releasing more line. Mine, however, when I push it i, I don't see any natural rotation on its own. Maybe, while holding the trimmer naturally and pushing the head into the ground, maybe simultaneously I'll need to rotate the "body" of the trimmer in order for more line to come out. If that doesn't work, then, like Jenna shows in the video, I think I'll have to push the head in with one knee and pull out the line manually with my hands. Maybe it's a design flaw or a defect. I will keep trying. Hope this was helpful.
@@paulstefens986 I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a bump to the ground like other trimmers. You actually have to stop and do it like Jenna to get more string to come out.
