Oh I do hope B&Q head office sees this. Imagine their horror when they hear their staff confirm friendliness is against company policy, and that "customers are complaining about being greeted". Lolololo.

They got done for discriminatory hiring practices years ago. Plus I worked at one of their stores and from what I could gather their all bitter old fucks who don’t like to see a smile in their store let alone a laugh

I'm pretty sure that they just used that as an excuse to get him to leave. They probably wanted to avoid a stranger looking like he worked there and giving the idea of offers that weren't real. But ... I'm pretty sure that deep down u know that already.

@@kyaldo For heaven's sake. What is it you don't get? ODELLIN is quite right, it damages their reputation to have somebody confirm they don't want friendliness in their store. That manageress will have damaged their brand.

Not so much the companies but the miserable people they tend to employ at lower middle management level. Every one I've encountered in the ten or so jobs I've had in my life has been a joyless creature full of fear. They expect you to be like them because they mistake their disposition for professionalism.

Dam. When you watch him tell the managers and workers of the store that he has been employed by them and they believe him it just shows the power of confidence. I reckon this man could tell the prime minister that he is their boss

Guess it's all the negative cop programmes shown endlessly on ITV2, Channel 5 and unsolicited clips being thrown at us on Facebook and RU-vid that promotes negativity. The genius of this (the earlier versions where he isn’t well known) is that the idea of any marketing exec signing off having an eccentric guy in a garish purple jacket outside one of its stores is obviously absurd. However because it’s executed with so much poise and charm, it actually becomes sort of plausible. A truly unique and remarkable character.
