Here is the catch, I was at a walmart (yeah I know...) I as at the back near the restrooms there looking at extensions cords near the rest area. I saw a lady that I was maybe 80% sure was a lady go into the female bathroom. A couple minutes later a guy came back with his little girl and told her to go in and he would wait right there for her. He did not know there was already "a person" in there. No telling how long a creep might wait in the bathroom for his next perfect victim. Unless you have a member of the same gender to go in and check you really do not know. (Or you could play their game and enter as a male "who is female at heart..." but just stand outside the stall to protect?) The best solution is to find a place with those "family" restrooms with no stalls but jsut a large bathroom so that the guy could verify it was empty and clean.

Actually the $999.99 for every item would work brilliantly! Every purchased item would be subject to a discount or instant rebate minus the original cost i.e. Tooth paste would get a $992.45 discount after purchase! The whole idea of allowing petty theft started from misplaced liability. Instead of the thief/instigator being responsible for what happened to them, the blame shifted to the store/victim. If you attempt to stop someone from stealing from your store, and as a result they get injured, they can, will, and probably win, by suing you for damages. Which cost less, letting a $1k TV walk out the door, or possibly get sued for $50k for an injury?

Employees should NEVER put their lives in danger to protect merchandise (crap). That's what police is for, that's what insurance is for. Leave the employees alone. I was in a dollar store once and a black woman kept walking into the store she would hide a bunch of stuff on her and then she would walk out the front door the alarm would go off which I thought was pretty odd then the woman would come back into the store stashed a bunch more stuff on her and walk back out of the store and set the alarm off again so I asked the cash register is there anything you can do and the cashier told me that they are not allowed to stop shoplifters so this black woman just spent however much time she wanted just coming in the store taking what she wanted and leaving

Here is my solution to the store theft problems with respect to store employee's, Get a job at the store, the very first day show up, take a cart and fill it up and take it home, do this everyday until they terminate your employment, then sue them for wrongful termination. This way you get paid and you get the fringe benefits of free stuff.
