Every gutiarist is amazing who is in the top. You just gotta find YOUR own sounds. That's how you become BIG! Imagine if Greg Howe played like Satriani or Metallica, he wouldn't be who he is today. Play YOUR own music, find inspiration from people that resonate with your sound and you'll be on your way to kicking ass. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sweet Jezuss the genius of Greg Howe. After all these years, this album and song is still the bar by which all rock fusion players & albums are measured imo. Such a killer and beautiful album! Phenom player!
Whenever I feel like I've accomplished something on guitar, I just listen to this song and quickly go right back into the woodshed with my head held low.
Govan is fantastic, Vai, Sfogli and Timmons are great players, but as a whole package (song writing, phrasing, tone,, production and of course technique) Greg Howe is unique
@@dfifty2 I heard this from shrapnel records when it came out and it is one of the greatest instrumental guitar songs of all time. I have heard many great guitar players in my life and I can't say who is the absolute best, but I can say this so one of the best songs of all time for guitar instrumental players. But lets not be naive just to name a few, Jason Becker, Ritchie Kotzen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Blues Saraceno, Neil Zaza, Marty Friendman, Michael Lee Firkins, Guthrie Govan, and on and on have had their great songs too.
just bought the tab with the back tracks ! and the cd too....got the guts! yes i do...been 3 months with the tab and the music and like fractal geometry, i kinda got a inkling of what im doing but hey ill will get there! just a inkling!!!:)
I didnt get as far as I really thought I could. my vocab and awarness got wider but I realzed the learning curve was too far away from me and turned to Boston. Learned a lot of passages but the general feel is more than my guts have. I failed and lessened my burden. boy is this tough to write. peace
RU-vid didn't always have separate audio streams. In 2013 and earlier, RU-vid would play a specific audio bitrate depending on the video resolution selected. For example: 240p would get 64 kbps MP3, 360p would get 128 kbps AAC, and 720p would get 192 kbps AAC.[1] Since your video was uploaded in 2011, it falls under these parameters. Your 480p video streams at 128kbps AAC. Lossless streaming is 1411kbps, which only a few services offer.[2] iTunes streams at 256kbps and Spotify streams at 320kbps [3] (which I would consider HQ because most people cant tell the difference between 320 and lossless). So...even if you uploaded a lossless version of the album and had a 720p available on your video, your 16bit 44.1khz 1411kbps file would only be streamed at 192kbps because RU-vid compressed the shit out of your file. Don't ask me what happens at 4k though, they might offer some better audio options but I couldn't really find any information on that. I also don't know shit about youtube red, so I would hope that if they are offering a subscription service they would at least keep up with iTunes and offer 256kbps streaming options (which is still pretty pathetic imho). funny to see how a white dude like Guthrie Govan can get ultimate recognition for something that has already been done by a black dude almost 20 years ago without the same hype... Greg Howe is seriously the best electric guitar player ever. Unbeatable.
Greg is famous in the good guitarist's community. and guthrie/greg are pretty different. Where you here greg, you can say "ok this is howe", and exactly the same for govan
And the colour of Guthrie's skin is relevant... how, exactly? As has been mentioned, Guthrie's been around since the early '90s, and he's acknowledged Howe as one of his inspirations. He even speaks of Howe in the same breath as Paul Gilbert in his instructional book, which is pretty much the ultimate praise. Nothing, absolutely nothing, warrants this kind of criticism. It also shows that you're not familiar with Guthrie's playing beyond "whoa, he can do fancy tapping licks, cool".
People today is obsessed about race , i´m pretty sure Greg and Guthrie don´t care about it . Plus , tons of players from the 80´s never got the props they deserved , even Guthrie is underrated , he´s only known among guitar players , just like Greg .
Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Tosin Abasi, Victor Wootem , Marcus Miller, Denis Chambers and so many others black guys... really are not very well known because of the color .... hahaha
