I can't wait to start God of War on Friday! The Witcher 3 is still my favourite game on PS4.

The bald dude in the middle sounded like he was recounting a story told to him by someone's friend who had an uncle that used to be driver for someone that played Dark Souls once, when he tried to describe the controls. Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne: R1 - light attack, R2 - strong attack, L1&L2 deal with weapons/shields/guns, but depend on the game.

I like the way Jared explains things

God of War is a certified 10/10, no question. One of the most incredible achievements in the history of the medium.

Wow at first I thought it was a stretch but that was actually a great analogy for Mario Kart by Jared.

Terminator 2 pinball game was my favorite back in the day! I must have dumped a few thousand dollars into the one at the pizza place by my house. The sawed off shotgun handle to put the ball in play was iconic! Memories!

And now that I have finally beat the game at my own pace/leisure, NOW is when I'll start watching reviews.

Was everything Jared said about Dark Souls wrong?

I really like what Greg said about making a new Jak game when saying that a new game could re-invent all of the outdated and unnecessary aspects about the trilogy but still maintain the core of the series much like God of War did. This would be EXACTLY what a new Jak game would require. This starts at 1:01:13. I should also note Jak 1,2 and 3 are my favourite games, I have thought about what a new game would be like for a long time, I do believe I understand the Jak games quite well and I certainly care about them. The Jak and Daxter story finished with 3. It is very much a trilogy. There can't simply be a "Jak 4" and it can't just be a direct sequel with the exact same feel. There is no point to a game like that. There are a lot of people who care about that franchise and most of those people do want some kind of prominent return. Again, Greg was absolutely spot on. I was aware that he "liked" the games but he absolutely nailed what Jak needs if it ever does have a big return.

This will have to be one hell of a game to dethrone Bloodborne as the best PS4 exclusive. Kinda Funny's blind spot to the Souls games will never not be frustrating lol.

Kinda stunned Tim doesn't know shoulder button melee attacks are increasingly the standard. Souls, Bloodborne, Horizon, AC Origins, etc.

In Dark Souls X is for your Estus (or other items in its place). Circle is for dodge/roll. I'm not sure if it was the first game with the attack buttons placed in R1,R2, L1 and L2 but it was the first I've played that way and now is the "norm". Just another amazing - yet apparently simple - way DS changed gaming.

Dark souls you attack with shoulder buttons bro.

Uncharted 4, Horizon, and God of War are all great and it comes down to what you like. I'd say Horizon is still my favorite because I like open worlds and the combat better.

I love Jared Petty, sweetest guy ever, but everything he said about Dark Souls is wrong.

Disc based games ps1, 2, and xbox 360 especially will be rare because of how easy they were to destroy compared to the other kinds of games that have existed. Blu ray ps3 and on meant that games were much stronger

It was so, so, soooooo infuriating listening to them getting literally everything wrong about the Dark souls control-scheme and then be kind of smug about it...like sooooo infuriating! But otherwise it was a great talk and I agree with everything said about GOW

I know its a sponsorship and everything... but a service like Simple Contacts promotes you never going to an optometrist... There are so many health issues that can be identified through a proper eye exam. One of my very close friends is an optometrist and not only would she chew my ass out if she found out I avoided an eye appointment for this app, but this girl discovered a brain tumor in a young girl that got sent to urgent care straight from her eye appointment and had to have emergency surgery to remove it. This thing could have killed this girl but thanks to an eye exam, she is doing great. Go to your actual eye exams!

Jared attack buttons for dark souls were on triggers. I distinctly remember it being one of the first games I played that had melee on triggers. Also it was circle to dodge not X. #KINDAFUNNYGAMESYOUREWRONG

I find it extremely hard to believe the story is better than TLOU.

I like Jared, he's one of my favorite expansions of the team. But boy if he didn't remember his time with Dark Souls he shouldn't have commented on the controls. I don't think anyone is going to take stabs at God of War for using triggers for combat, you can give Dark Souls some credit. It felt like he just wanted to dismiss it so God of War could have the cake.

How do none of them know that every Soulsborne game has attack mapped to the bumpers/triggers? Jared even acts like he's played Dark Souls yet he is wrong. Tim asks if any other action games use them like he didn't hear Andrea and Greg talk about Assassin's Creed: Origins for a month.

The part where they said you don't use shoulder buttons to attack in dark souls made me want to scream to the heavens in agony. More games have been adopting that control style for melee and its because of the souls games.

Playing this game, was not easy, but when u beat an area, valkyrie queen I'm looking at you, I never felt so accomplished. I hated this game at times, but am absolutely in love with this game.

The cast consists of what 9 ppl and that’s probably why i think its so good bc they can focus on them and develop them, every character had an arc and cory said he likes storys that are simple but the characters are complex Minor spoiler from here on So the characters is it really only nine? So theres kratos ,atreus, brok, sindri, freya, mogi , his brother, mimir, balduer of course theres other characters that get developed and explained but arent those all the on screen characters correct me if im wrong

Totally wrong about Dark Souls controls. The two games have virtually identical controls from what other reviewers have reported. Shoulder buttons are attack in Dark Souls and obviously Sony DID copy it since they helped in making Bloodborne. Not to say this is bad; I’m looking forward to it. Just should give credit to where credit is due. It’s one of the things I love about dark souls. It’s like the right 1 is your right arm and right 2 is your right arm but stronger. Same as if your controller is a human body standing there facing your enemy. It becomes like the controller is a little version of your character once you start to learn. Left 1 is your left arm. Etc. It’s a small thing that gives me more immersion vs other games that use face buttons to do some crazy flip flop hundred punches every time you press, and that makes me think - “I did that? No, I didn’t; I just pressed a button. Wtf?!?” Face button controls make me feel it’s not real and I’m playing a game. Elder Scrolls also used shoulder and trigger and I feel same about it-gives more immersion to combat.

The ignorance on dark souls here is impressive. Yes they are on the shoulder buttons. They kinda started it. There is a lot in this new god of war that barrows from dark souls.
