I know you stressed over and over again not to listen unless you’ve played but since I don’t have that luxury as I’m pc/Xbox-less I listened anyway. And as someone who typically doesn’t like bethesda games at all this video has done more for me than any of the pre launch hype/ reviews. And it’s so nice to see Greg this excited about a game!

Just started my ng+ the first 10hrs of this game was kind of frustrating and boring felt like it was going to be a 7 out of 10, but then this game has gotten its hooks in me and has given me many memorable experiences. I did over 100hrs and rolled credits on Badur's Gate in the first two weeks of that games pc release and thought it was my clear game of the year but this game is beginning to challenge that assumption.

Finally finished the game after 175 hours. I LOVE that Greg had this experience with this game, the first time role-playing in a game, but gotta say my experience with NG+ was VERY different. Losing all the ships, weapons, comparisons and more was FAR too much in exchange for a starborn spacesuit and a pretty bad starborn ship. Immediately went back to previous save where I will pick up for DLC. NG+ made everything I had built over 175+ hours seems worthless.

Multiverse fatigue or not I desperately want to see a game that incorporates the new game plus elements of Starfield crossed with Merrins portal creation/traversal in Jedi Survivor and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart in some kind of fantastic multiverse adventure. My first thought was it would be cool if the Spiderman sequels could play with the Spiderverse concept but hearing about Starfields use of the concept in this way I would just love a dedicated multiverse game.

Starfield has only gotten better, i came back after getting to lvl 13, i refused to play inventory simulator / waste level up points on encumbrance. new options & update are phenomenal. The Car is a freakin blast to pass off between friends going off a ramp/crater

Oh my gosh I already loved the game one new game plus in I kinda wish I didn’t hear about this, but at the same time, I’m just stunned, I knew Todd was cooking but I’m floored that he was cooking this well. And it’s so neat, on the first playthrough I was confused why the starborn would be so thirsty for artefacts and why they cared. In new game plus I sorta felt the pull. But it seems like for you, trying to get back to a world where you can make it work with Andrejah has the ability to be the thing that really contextualises just how important the artefacts really are for the starborn which is a crazy merging of narrative and gameplay.

this is fascinating. for me, i romanced Sam on the first playthrough, and at the unity my alter said that he ended up choosing to be reborn as well. When I eventually saw him in new game plus, I couldn't bring myself to romance him again because I knew he wasn't /my/ Sam. My Sam is somewhere out there in the multiverse. So now my game has this overwhelming sense of lonliness where there's nothing tethering me to any of thse universes, and I feel free to keep jumping through them on a whim.

Greg I had the issue landing back on the planet after going to the eye. You need to get scanned so if you jump to another system then back to Jemison you could have landed.

I haven’t played a minute of this game but spoilers DO NOT bother me in the slightest. Actually learning about the idea behind the new game plus content involving the multiverse actually makes me want to play the game even more! I have yet to find a traditional Bethesda/Todd Howard RPG that works for me and I’m hoping Starfield is finally the one that pulls me in? I’m actually glad I “spoiled” the game for myself and watched this, thanks Greg!❤👍🏾

I'm close enough to the end that I knew what the basic premise of NG+ would be but thought it would only get a couple of tiny nods in content. It's really call that they have alternate options for the questline and distinct permutations etc. Anyway, I've never been able to gel with a Bethesda game before and I'm obsessed with this. Really glad I heard all of the legit complaints before I started so there wasn't any *false* hype going in, but what you do get is honestly pretty incredible. The only complaints I have *now I know what the game actually is* are incumbrance (spec up fast, and if you store stuff at the lodge regularly you can mostly manage it) and load times (which I'm kinda OK with). The star travel stuff could be more meaningful, but after the initial disappointment I think they made the right call on it.

Do character personalities differ for everyone’s game? I ask because my Andreja was exactly how Greg described his Sarah. She was constantly disapproving of the slightest decision I made (I don’t even play evil). Sarah was the one for me who was chill with me being a bit more morally grey. So odd. Fair criticisms honestly. I lean more towards an 8 but I can definitely understand people even giving it a 7. Now that the game is in players hands it’s rated a 3.75/5, so a 7.5 out of 10 on Xbox own storefront, so most players are feeling about the same. Hopefully Bethesda can be quick with their updates without leaving everything to modders to fix it for them.

I made the choice to go to the Eye because Sarah was there, and I couldn't bear to lose her. Apparently if your top affinity companion is at the Eye and you go save them, the Hunter kills your second highest affinity companion. I'm sorry Andreja, I couldn't lose Sarah.

I'm glad it's not just me that didn't like The Hunter reveal. At first I was like ":O walter?" but then they're like "keeper!" and I was like "who....?" I don't understand where this dude came from, like you go through 80% of the main quest and then he suddenly tells you basically everything and is also this "bad guy" Feels like he didn't really have any build up or payoff Edit: Yoooo what the fuck I didn't think it was possible to spoil more of the game! oops lol I guess I'll finish the last few minutes later xD

You can absolutely play a game however you like to enjoy yourself, but there is a certain type of pleasure from letting your actions have real consequences - they can make the experience more meaningful. I still save-scum occasionally and don't want to sound judgy, but I think that's the main reason.

See, I'm 100 hours in and I had the opposite reaction. I really dislike NG+ and feel like the gimmick of it damaged the back half of the main quest. I think it would have been a stronger story if they didn't do the multiverse thing, and if the story didn't feel so nihilistic. That's just me, though. I know a lot of people, like yourself, enjoy it.

Are you guys hiring any local camera operators or assistants??? The frontal shot of Greg isn’t framed exactly how I would do it. The shot is very wide, too much head room, the Starfield floating head at the bottom of the desk… there’s a lot going on and I’m sure it’s to show off all the Starfield images in the studio but it’s creating a weird shot. Make it tighter. Proper head room. I am local and live in SF. I also am an avid Xbox and PC gamer.

I think it is ridiculous that it takes how many hours before it starts to get into the good stuff. Don’t get me wrong I think there are things there that are good. But there are way too many things that I either found super boring (the main story), mislead by/let down, or just straight up off putting. And for a Bethesda game it just feels rather bare (not that there isn’t a tonnnnn of stuff just that there is also a tonnnn of bare boring or repetitive gameplay).

1. It's really great that you're not the "space guy" because there's no space available here. 2. You can't engage in role-playing because the world isn't immersive. The world is sterile and lifeless, with no reaction to your actions or anything else. 3. Yes, you're just doing things, and in between, you have a loading screen. 4. It's nice that you talk so much about TikTok and the like without even slightly addressing the criticism on all your social media channels, including TikTok, etc. 5. You can't stay connected because the game disconnects you from the flow and immersion every few minutes. 6. Okay, we're now at minute 16, and I've had enough of the chatter. So, wait, let me get this straight. Your entire reason for being excited about this mediocre game is basically your ignorance and FOMO over what might change inbetween NG+s, coupled with extremely strong projection of your head canon which was only brought about by a *GAME BREAKING BUG*. Your entire video started out as 2 NG+s due to FOMO over not being able to romance one character, amazement that Bethesda "brilliant"-ly included some pre-scripted start variations which largely don't matter to the overall gameplay on NG+s after that, then projecting your fantasy that things will continue to change as you play through and find your "normal" start NG+ with no evidence that there is any significant changes once you nest in any specific playthrough. The whole concept of NG+ in this game is the biggest FOMO inducing cop-out "bait the players along" mechanic I have seen used lately, I am extremely disappointed that a videogame journalist would be so oblivious to the obvious player manipulation going on here. Starfield is an incredibly poorly made game by modern standards for AAA titles, a mild variation in quests between NG+s just goes to show what Bethesda wasted time on instead of actually fleshing out the galaxy. Every novel but ultimately pointless variation they included in any NG+ is simply time they could have invested in making a much more cohesive and expansive universe for a first playthrough, it gives them a mechanical reason to continually reset the player to zero so that hopefully people "don't notice" the huge problems in itemization and advancement that pop up when players spend too much time in a singular galaxy.

Love this Greg! Old school KF content vibe. Rolled credits twice. I freaking love this game and how it continues to suprise me. I think this is my favorite Bethesda game- a high bar for me.

This video really helped me come to terms with how I will move forward playing. I have had such a blast with this game, but finding out you lose all of your stuff with NG+ felt a little like a rug pull, but the concept of finding and living in a universe that suits my character feels like the best way to proceed. Great video!

I also more recently have discovered that role playing in Bethesda universes helps to create memorable experiences and enhances the game experience. It's not the type of game that is there primarily for your consumption, it's a world for you to engage in. Creating a backstory and aligning your decisions with those character traits is so impactful. Whats best is on a second playthrough once you understand the world and it's opportunities and obstacles, crafting a story within those parameters. That said, the best game for this is Fallout New Vegas.

I’m now finally watching this after finishing my first play through getting all the achievements and having played 9 days of this game I loved it and despite getting all the achievements the new game plus makes me want to carry on but I’m having a break and gonna play some Alan wake remastered ready for the sequel 👍

I highly recommend when you finally find your universe to get Andreja back that you do the 4 Faction quests. Some of the best quests and surprises in the game come from them. I just finished the game for the first time and had done everything and ended up with Andreja. I’m curious about the payoff with NG+ but I want to come back to my universe where my people and Andreja is. So I’m not sure if I’ll play it or watch some RU-vid videos of it and just finally start an outpost/home with Andreja and do all the side quests slowly when I feel like playing. 9/10 game for me
