It takes a lot of patience to deal with such a character as Tommy Wiseau, so I admire Greg, you can tell he has good heart
@rjsalvador1935
@rjsalvador1935 4 года назад
I showed this clip to my wife and both she and I were always wondering what made Greg loyal to Tommy and it is so genuine for him to say, “its because he needed a friend.” We thought that was heartwarming and very kind.

daimon hellstrom you think so? I think even money can’t make up for certain personalities, if he used him for money he would have ditched him years ago, instead he still collaborated with and I never once heard him speak badly about him
@DeadSezSo
@DeadSezSo 4 года назад
@daimon hellstrom trust me, people like Tommy are so eccentric and near impossible to understand that many of the people who would say they get him are probably completely off base. I think greg sestero's true genuine and good nature is revealed through his friendship with tommy. But lets not sell tommy short on the overwhelmingly positive aspects of his character. This is clearly someone who felt rejected and had been hurt before. He needed that friendship to truly finally take that step but you know what? So did Greg, I think whether he realized it at the time and the proof is the fact that their performance has such a cult following to the point world famous actors are portraying THEM making their movie. Not remaking their movie necessarily...but imitating THEM and their journey together. Truly an inspirational story and inspirational people, both are really good role models for different reasons.

@trashboat2687
@trashboat2687 4 года назад
tFighterPilot true but, if according to his book and the movie is true, he could’ve had a decent connection with Cranston. At least enough to appear in a Malcolm In The Middle episode. You add that, plus him doing enough acting classes, along with gaining experience without Tommy Wiseau interrupting and he could’ve had a better career....potentially. But I agree with you, and Greg’s friendship with Wiseau is truly admirable, as well as helping Wiseau with more movies.
@trashboat2687
@trashboat2687 4 года назад
bihbhkjbnlk I know, but as I previously stated, had he continued with his acting classes, and possibly persevere without the assistance of Wiseau, plus with his recent connection with Bryan Cranston, who knows he probably could’ve booked a supporting role in a show like SWAT, NCIS or whatever.
@eliangel7392
@eliangel7392 4 года назад
bihbhkjbnlk You cant appreciate a real good acting without a real good director. Thats kind of obvious. I don’t think he is a bad actor, I think he is a good one but sadly worked with bad directors that made him seem bad.

MrDX1118 I disagree, Greg moved to LA without knowing anyone. As crazy as Tommy was, it helped him get started and if you read the book, Greg was drawn to Tommy's courageousness, that he lacked. You always take a little something from your friends, Greg took some of Tommy's courage. Plus the Room had to be made for Greg to write his book about... Probably making a much better living than he ever would modeling and guest acting on shows

And it was 14 years ago, he probably has improved his acting a lot, he's got the looks, he is definitely got common sense, is down to earth, he is everything Tommy is not, given the proper chance he could definitely make it as an actor or whatever he really wants to, Tommy dragged him down with this movie.

yeah i mostly agree with you regarding greg, but i think you are too disrespectful to tommy.
@natfingerboard
@natfingerboard 6 лет назад
What I mean is, even if you keep acting aside, he is definitely good at writing, and he was modeling in Europe, even if that's what he wants to do, it doesn't matter if the room is the reason for his appearance in the media, there are a lot of people wanting to do their thing and get recognized, who have everything they need except media exposure, Greg got that for a weird ass reason but he got that now, if he wants to write more books or wants to keep modeling and get bigger contracts he definitely has the chance now and I would be happy if he finally had a break thru in the industry. That's all I'm saying, now if you are implying his book is shit and he can't write and he is not good at any art and shouldn't be in Hollywood than it's just ignorance on your part.

You could never find a better best friend than Sestro. This guy knew Tommy is not a normal human being and he knew that nobody would hire Tommy for a big budget film as an actor. He just wanted to see his friend happy. That's what friendship has to boil down to. True brotherhood in a nutshell. Doesn't matter how bad the movie was, Sestro wanted to make it happen even if he didn't agree with Tommy.

"The Franco brother became and actor" what are you implying exactly? Dave Franco got his breakthrough role on 21 Jump Street in 2012 and he was in the Now You See Me movie in 2013, which is a pretty big budget production, while the Disaster Artist came out in 2017, so he definitely didn't start his acting career with that movie. Are you saying that he really found his footing in this film and finally became a GOOD actor after working in it? Cause that's also debatable, his on-screen performances before that were fine imo...

I saw a clip of F(r) iends and Tommy HAS improved. Not Tom Hanks or Matt Damon GOOD but his inflections have come along since The Room. Hey, if The Room can succeed, I'll believe anything is possible!

Man Greg Sestero is humble as f*ck. He didn't even do a cameo in Disaster Artist, a movie which was based on *HIS* book which was also based on his life together with Tommy Weasel.

1:12 What was it about? What's the point of it? Spoons!

Paul Frederick for some reason the movie is full of paintings of weird spoons

Wouldn't it be funny if the reason Tommy made this movie is because he wanted free spoons?
@joaquizzletwizzle
@joaquizzletwizzle 6 лет назад
Paul Frederick the movie set had generic pictures of spoons they forgot to take out so in the film there's just a bunch of spoon pictures and whenever a spoon comes up in the frame the theater throws spoons at the screen
@1pcfred
@1pcfred 6 лет назад
+JoaquizzleTwizzle why do you say forgot? The spoon is a very important symbol in Tommy's dimension.

According to Greg Sestero, Tommy Wiseau submitted the Room to Paramount, hoping to get them as the distributor. Usually, it takes about two weeks to get a reply. This movie however was rejected within 24 hours.
