I think the 48 is good. If you have a compact sleeping bag, you’ll have more than enough room. It has bedroll straps so you can carry some gear on the outside. This pack is incredible youlll love it
I’ve got an update: recently I went on a hike that I’ve done with this pack, but this time I used a pack from a different company and boy did i regret it. This back carried the weight so much better. The pack feels like it’s part of your body.
Hay Ya Dave :) Just shared this Video with My Little Brother Dan, He's going to Love the Pack, as it is just Perfict for Him. Once again Major Thanks Dave for such an outstanding Review Job! So Greatly Appreciated. Bye for now and catch You soon. ,,, Mike.
Such an Outstanding Job Dave! Great Demo Pal, that Pack has Design features that are perfect for my personal style. I've had my eye out for a smaller 2nd Pack for a long time now. I rock the Osprey 60L Anti-Gravity and love it, but this Video has clinched it for me in my search for a 2nd and smaller option. Yap, this is the one for me and I sure thank YA for bringing it to our attention. I'll be back to the link below to order one soon. Blessings Pal, & great to see you again. Later, ... Mike.
I have a 90 l dry bag backpack. That weighs nearly the same amount. How does that compromise in being a lighter pack? It would have to be at least around 2 3/4 lb otherwise it's just too heavy THEY FAILED
Just discovered your channel, and subscribe to it. I have just bought Paragon 58 lit. in M/L size , the pack is on its way. Two things : I have 48 cm torso length and I hope that it will fit me well. What do you think? At the time of my purchase, S/M was not available. My torso is between sizes, I think. Second thing, I don't get the reason for sleeping bag separation, why would you do that. I think I'll will remove that, not for saving weight, but I think that its not necessary. Thanks' and have a good hikes!
Help friend thank you for coming by. You can make small adjustments to the torso length (At 2:35 in the video). I’ve been using this pack for years now and still love it. I sometimes borrow my friends packs and compare and I still love this pack. Most comfortable. The sleeping bag compartment: I’d would suggest using it as is on your first trip. I like to hang my pack from a tree (like this: instagram.com/p/B90cFMJBkqc/). I like how you can access things from the side opening and the bottom opening. When you pull out your sleeping bag, the other gear won’t fall out and move around if you keep that divider in there. But that’s just me. Regardless you’re going to love it and you’re going to have great adventures and memories. Have fun my friends and please follow me on Instagram and share your photos so I can see it too
I just bought this pack (Paragon 48) and it does not have the bottom divider to separate your sleep system; nor is there a slanted mesh pocket for the water bottle. Guess they changed since your video. I was bummed about that but I still like the pack overall.
Hello Kelly thank you for coming by. The one I reviewed is the latest model, it probably came out last year. You may have the previous model. I’m glad you still like it. Does it have the FREE FLOAT suspension? I hope it does I really like that feature.
Hi Forest, it’s the Snugpak Softie Elite 1 - amzn.to/3vGz1xy. 45F comfortably but as low as 36F and at that temp I wear wool and might use a liner for anything below that. Depends also on your natural body temp and eating a big meal near bed time keeps you warm too . I use it all the time because it’s compact and the best part is that it can expand width wise so if it’s not too cold you can expand it and have more shoulder room.
The paragon has the freefloat feature that I highlighted in the video and it’s a dream to hike with. Sometimes you have to climb over big logs or boulders, maybe crawl under a log or branches, the the FREEFLOAT hugs your back and twists and turns with you. When you have a lot of heavy gear in your pack, that feature is amazing. When you decide to buy a pack, any pack, please use my link in the description it’ll greatly help me out
@@BushcraftDave Appreciate the info. Would gladly repay the quality review by using the link but sadly the olive version isn't available on Amazon or anywhere in the UK. Going to have to buy from REI and pray UPS don't handle orders because of their extortionate handling charges. If you have an affiliate link for them I'll gladly use it!
Hello there. It’s based on torso length, because the weight is going to rest on your hips. This is is adjustable which is really convenient. Heres more help: www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/backpacks-adjusting-fit.html

@@BushcraftDave That will be a Grand Day! So much that we can learn from each other & the True Stories I have for you that are always reserved for around the campfire will sear in your memory & blow Ya away! We likely share some other gear in common as well, The Cascadia fold together backpacking table you showed is one of two of the very same I have used for a long time now. When I got mine the guy was making them out of his home. Other gear I'm guessing you may have a kin to mine may be my G.B. small forest axe & the Borio 21 fold up buck saw. I use some quality imported leather gloves but that means nothing, leather is leather but these are very extremely well made & treated & conditioned. Customized Craftsman gear I have been generously gifted with is my Axe Mask and Collar made for my G.B. SFA and so cool looking, "see IG Posts History; made to fit like a glove by: Amontie @bushlore21 "IG" My Anti Gravity Pack is a 65 L not 60, I made an error on that. So YA see Dave the Gregory pack at 48L is just an Ideal 2nd Pack for me! ... Thanks my man! Blessings always Pal, ... M.
