For definite - this voice goes even further in a live setting. Seen him every time he's been here in Toronto, and I can't wait to see him hopefully this July!
A once in a generation talent, Gregory's sublime vocal gift, his phrasing, his effortless presence, continue the line from Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross. He is, quite simply, the gold standard of his generation.
He has given me hope that their is still good singers in this world instead of the crap that is normally peddled out by the money making machines and so called 'talent' shows. Talent? My Arse!
I found Gregory Porter on the radio, WHUR, a Sunday nite enroute to home by car, over two weeks ago and have not stop listening to his music, almost daily basis, awesome voice, just bring my mind back to what was and where I should be, after 60 plus years!❤
Sensational, a genuine talent, not just in jazz but as a vocalist in a general sense. Gregory Porter's voice is perfection! What a blessing this man is to music.
THE AMAZING CREATION OF GOD SO GIFTED AND SO HUMBLE ONLY THE LORD CAN DO THIS LET'S BLESS THE LORD FOR THIS MARVELOUS CREATURE OF MANKIND AMEN PEOPLE OF GOD!
Watched him live at the joy of jazz festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, September 2014.What a perfomance. He's one of the brightest contemporary musical lights
he was heard first on jazz FM with 1960what and started his career late and got to glastonbury , keep with Jazz FM Gregory because you will never go out of fashion with them :-)
I heard Gregory on Radio 2 singing this song and thought it was a recording of an old legend long since gone. What a nice surprise to find out it was Gregory, I'd never heard him before but his voice is beautiful, smooth and silky, reminds me of Ray Charles, Marvin etc so now I'm scouring looking for more of his music. Such a change from hearing pre-made pop hits from TV shows of today. Seems a really nice gut too. Thanks Radio 2!
