Okay so here is how I think supplies should be introduced in low ranks:
In recruit, Armor, Damage, And Speed supplies should be active non-stop. No need for players to activate them. Once they rank up they should be given the ability to use both repair kits and mines, and the game should explain to them what both of the supplies do with either a video or a short tutorial level. After a 2-3 more ranks, the game should stop giving the player the armor effect, and instead, the player now has to use armor as normal. Both damage and speed supply effects should continue to be automatic. A short tutorial/video should explain how to use armor + what it does. The process should repeat for double damage, and finally for speed. After all the supplies are normal, the game should explain the importance of drones, and how it effects supplies.
Some new players might not like that the game is "removing" stuff (taking away always active supplies), but I think that this isn't an issue, as long as tanki introduces players to the idea in the right way. also its still better than the current system.
Another thing that makes this idea good is that it balances out battles between different tanks. higher ranks will have better equipment but more manual supplies, lower ranks will have worse equipment but more active supplies.
For this idea to work I think its really important tanki makes a lot of "tutorial videos" explaining the process to new players. otherwise this idea might fail.
Also another thing I forgot to mention is tanki should give players around 100-200 of each supply to start off.
