When a live song sounds like a recording or better, you know the music is genuine and not processed. These kids Rock. Manufactured music, time to step up your game.🤔👍
Here's the deal. I'm 56, I'm old. I've seen this all before. I only heard of these guys 2 days ago., so I play them lots on iTunes to get a feel for their music. They're a bunch of young dudes still in diapers who came out, are selling a ton of music and putting on great live shows. Then I read all the negative shit. It's gotta be pure envy because these guys are making terrific music. They write it, they play it, and the a$$holes come out. Hit repeat. It's worse now with social media. DO YOU LIKE THE MUSIC? That's all you gotta ask. Forget the Zeppelin comparisons and all that, DO THEY MAKE GREAT MUSIC? Support them if you do, but shut the **** up if you do not. For me, I'm buying the vinyl next week and hopefully see them live in my city in 2020. In the meantime, just enjoy the band and their great talent and huge potential.
As a writer, this is exactly how I feel about any kind of art, whether it's in film, TV, music, paintings, photography, etc. If the artist put their heart and soul into the work, then why should anything else matter? The one true fact about art is that it's all about how YOU perceive it and how much effort you put into. Everything else is just white noise. Literally. When an artist is able to block that shit out and do what they do, they know in their heart they are great. Opinions don't mean shit. I love GVF, and I'm proud to say I've been a fan for two years. I appreciate your input. Thank you.
I've been a rock and roll fan since the 60's, straight from the Beatles and early British invasion era. This band is so brilliant in so many ways. Saw them live in Detroit last winter and was totally impressed. They will go down in history...and will be around for a LONG time. Love them!! Carry on GVF!!
Holy Hell!!!! That was incredible, whew. What a powerful song. I’m certain this one will go down as a classic in rock history. Thank you for sharing it.
There is certainly no doubt about that. It will be among great songs like Free Bird, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bohemian Rhapsody, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Yesterday, etc. It still needs time to grow, though. I've been a GVF fan for 2 years and until I saw this, I didn't realize how great the song itself was. It's incredible!
@@Cajungirl71 It's unbelievable, I KNOW! All the naysayers said what they say to all the great bands which is "you'll never make it." Well look who's laughing now! I'm 21 and I love these guys!
They've got a lot of toe-tappers, but this slower, smoldering one is really impressive and yes, it's going to last. I'm guessing you've listened to the studio version (probably a hundred times) by now, but if you haven't, do so -- with headphones. Wow. BIG TIME songcrafting going on here. Haters are only cheating themselves.
I was at that same show with my parents (in Cleveland) - immediately bought tickets in the car ride home from that same show to see them again in San Diego (Same year) with my wife. Hearing this song live solidified it for me. Period.
With all the shit music out there...fucking rap, justin bieber, ariana grande, wimp ass rock like weezer, etc etc and people worry about who Greta sound like. Who fucking cares, enjoy this band, they take us back in time when music was great😎
My wife and I flew in from MN to meet up with our son and daughter-in-law to see GVF in NC. They did not disappoint. Fantastic show! We also fell in love with Raleigh and the surrounding area. Very nice people and beautiful scenery. Thank you,North Carolina, for having us and sharing your wonderful hospitality! And thank you, GVF, for putting on one of the greatest shows that I've seen in a long time!
Saw them live at the DC101 Kerfuffle in Colombia, MD like a month ago and it was easily one of the best performances of my life so far. Each and everyone of them have soo much talent and bring so much to the table as a band. I went home and practiced guitar for like 5 hours watching jake rip that guitar apart 🤘🏻
Precisely. I've been a fan for two years since From the Fires! The first time I heard them on the radio, I knew they had something special. Also, I honestly never realized how underrated and magnificent Age of Man was until I saw this video!
Amazing song and band! Nice to see new musical geenies! Somekind a modern Led Zeppelin i would say. The drummer seems inspired of John Bonham to me. Heard this song on the radio today and were blown away! Greetings from a 46 years old hardrocker from Sweden!🤘
Robert Jonsson I'd say this song reminds me more of Pink Floyd or Grateful Dead tbh. It's got that Psychedelic sound to it. I hope they put more experimental songs like this on the second album!
Where have I been ,,,,never hearing of this #kickass band ??I CANNOT STOP listening!!The sound is ........ ........ ........Familiar ~ in the best kind of way !!
just when ya think it can't get any better.........epic Sammy....epic showmanship...the song's gettin' its dues...knew it way when...love you guys!beautiful sensitive guitar Jake!!!!Josh is getting the sound he deserves with that angelic epic voice, awesome all of you!
GVF WAS AMAZING AND THE CROWD WAS LOVING EVERY MINUTE. WE WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STAGE AND THE EXCITMENT DOWN THERE WAS UN REAL. EVERYONE WAS SUPER PUMPED CAUSE GRETA WAS THE HEADLINER OF SIX BANDS. GOTTA BE HONEST IM STILL TRYING TO RECOVER, IT WAS A LONG HOT DAY BUT WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT.
Thank you so much for uploading 😊💖 Last week I've been at my first Greta Van Fleet concert in Vienna and it was just perfect 🎶🤩💖 I was very happy when they performed Age of Man because it's one of my favorite songs.
Wow! THANK YOU for posting! I was there last night too with my lovely girl! We were sitting in the center by the sound boards! Greta was INCREDIBLE last night live. Im still blown away and this video just took me riggt back to last night!!! Ill share u some of our vids when we upload tonite!! They wont be as good as this but we got some great ones:) thanks again hope u had fun
Bottom line - I am really, really old... I have seen the Rolling Stones, The who, the Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, U2, Bowie, Rush, Boston, ELO, Queen, Kansas, Aerosmith, Heep, Steve Miller, Yes, Cream, Floyd, Genesis (with Gabriel)... I could go on. And, I saw Greta Van Fleet at Red Rock's (both nights sold out, 10,000 each night) and I can tell you that they blew ALL of the previously mentioned bands away. I am fucking serious.
Wow what a show, anyone capture the Crossroads lead in to Safari song encore?? See them now before they get to stadium status, Three brothers that rock like that... Thanks for carrying the rock and roll torch.. So what if they sound like Zep, I am 57 years old and was lucky to see Zep once...
Tim Brown, I'm 21 and I love GVF! Been a fan for two years. Only simpletons can't look passed the Zeppelin comparisons. I'm a big fan of Grateful Dead, Creedence, Steppenwolf, The Doors, Beatles, Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Rolling stones, the Eagles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marvin Gaye, and everything in between. Rock on man!
Why all the hate for this band so what if they sound like Led Zeppelin they play and sing live music with a lot of quality !!! The people complaining are the same people that think that rap music put together by sampling and auto tune supposedly artists that would sound like crap without all the enhancements.
I don't give a shit what anyone says, this song is amazing. It is poetic and spiritually inspiring. I'm sick and tired of all the fucking complaints and comparisons. People need to grow up. To hate on a song as beautiful as this is just wrong on so many levels. If you don't like it, then don't listen to it. Simple as that. Take your hate baggage and store it in someone else's basement. Let the people who actually enjoy music have some room to breathe without you assholes shitting on it for no reason. Peace, Love, & Unity to those who aspire to better themselves everyday. ✌☮❤🌎🙏
I noticed that too. Many great keyboardists do too. The one who comes to mind first is John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. I'm not making comparisons to Zeppelin though. My first boyfriend back in 1970 played Hammond B3 organ in the local band and he also played bass on the organ. I was a mere 14 at the time and he was 18! Yeah, those were the days!
I read a review on "All music guide" that the singer was the weak link in the band. These same music critics slammed Geddy Lee of Rush saying he sounded like Mickey Mouse on helium. This band rocks and Josh has an awesome voice. I wish them the best and keep rockin.
A música já era foda pra caralho. O que os caras transformaram com essa intro é épico! Hoje digo com certeza, o rock não morreu! Obrigado Greta Van Fleet!
IM 52, ITS REFRESHING TO HEAR ROCK MUSIC AGAIN, AS I GREW UP ON IT, AMERICAN MUSIC BEING DOMINATED BY SO CALLED HIP HOP, RAP MUSIC, AND COUNTRY MUSIC, FOR ABOUT THREE DECADES NOW. BUT I WONDER IF ROCK WILL EVER BE MAINSTREAM AGAIN IN U.S.A.,? IM NOT OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THAT.
