This is the Gretsch G2655T, one of three guitars in the Streamliner range, new for 2016. This represents the lowest price point for Gretsch, although you wouldn't know it when playing one!
It might look like it was designed in 1955, and that rockabilly twang is all it can manage, but don't be fooled; this is a modern-sounding and playing instrument.
It's a semi-acoustic with a centre block, albeit said block is itself hollow! It has a maple body with a spruce top, a licensed Bigsby (although a hardtail is also available), and two Broadtron pickups, which have been specially designed for this range.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a great guitar, and I love it!
This video is unaffiliated with Gretsch; as nice as it would have been for them to send me it (as would be true of any guitar company!), this is my guitar, having bought it this month. As it's my guitar, I've made a couple of modifications; I've removed the pickguard, and I've replaced the master volume knob with a taller one.
