Thanks Bob,that was lovely.Put me in a dreamy place on a back porch somewhere...Have been listening to a few people play the Gin Rickey.Like it more every time I hear it.Your playing has convinced me.i'll have to save up and buy one for my muso son. Thanks again!
Just got one and it’s actually bigger than the parlors that fit much better with my smaller body but I can’t bring myself to return it. It’s just got character. Your playing was inspiring man. Thanks for showing me how to appreciate this old blues box!
Was looking to get the Jim Dandy but when I saw this with the deltaluxe pickup just had to have it . Really great playing and sounding guitar and you sir made me smile with your awesome song . Cheers from Manitoba Canada .
It’s a fun guitar it will be fine. I just sold mine but it was cool. I never played out much with it. I did record a country blues song with it. Worked out well.
@@Doowopsid no problem. It’s dialed in the mods are killer I have a few videos with it on my channel so let me know if you have any questions. Thx for listening
Wow! That Gin Rickey sounds fantastic in open E, the tuning actually suits the guitar better than open D as I have mine in currently. Did you compose the music mate? Great tune. I'm glad I clicked on the video :)
Just bought this yesterday. So I’m 2 days in trying to learn guitar at 40. Aside from my fingers killing me im having fun. How do I go about learning this bluesy sound?
In guitar lingo, a string that isn't being fretted is "open". A guitar tuned to Open E has the strings tuned so that it plays the E chord if you strum it without using any of the frets. Open E and Open D tunings are really useful for slide guitar because you can move the slide up and down the neck to (relatively) easily play the Major chords. Also I'm a 44 year old guy trying to get into guitar. I'll stick with it if you do.
