Wow! This sure is new sounding for one of Miss DeLisle's songs, and I love it. Because it sounds so soft, clear, inviting, and wholesome. Also, Yay! First to comment!
I promise I didn't go looking for this; the algorithm has a long memory; this just showed up in my feed among the normal mix of true crime, chess strategy, MMA, and old TV musical appearances. I loved this song a lot when you first wrote it, I love it still. You're such a smart & insightful writer; the way you can layer a repeating variation of a phrase("so messed up") to have it stay surprising in each new context, yet still follow a structure, and sound conversational AND melodic is just.. it's not forced. It flows like its just meant to be there, but I know the kind of craft and thoughtfulness it takes to make it seem like it just happened that way. It's smart without being show-off, which lets the ideas and emotion get delivered exactly where they need to be. So, so good. Like, the listener is always in good hands; the construction and the thought given to paint this picture with sound and words is assured and solid. World-class stuff. This and "girl without a suitcase" are two of my favorites, like that. Hope all is good and well. ❤
So, another friend of mine introduced me to you back in October I think it was, and I really love your singing voice! I'm a blind guy who plays the bagpipes but I'm also obsessed about vocal vibratos. So I just HAVE to say as a blind person: HOLY MAZZILLO! Your voice captured my auditory attention as a blind person because of how seriously extremely HOT your vibrato is!!! As a blind person, looks of course don't mean a thing, so my best alternative to a girl looking hot is how hot her vibrato is for me. BTW, when I said 'Mazzillo', that's the name of the best Italian bagpipe maker in history, and yes, there are such things. It' be cool if you sampled his music in your next song LOL. I badly wish you could put links in RU-vid comments but I made a playlist of the only extant recordings of Mazzillo as well as other people playing his instruments. Or you could type in "Mazzillo Italian bagpipes", but do make sure you spell Mazzillo right haha.
