I love your videos. I watched a little Egret rugby tackle an eel at Stodmarsh in Kent a few months back. It kept wriggling out of the Egrets beak but the Egret kept going and finally it got the eel. Amazing.
Wow. I’ve always revered herons. Tonight I drove past a dead heron on the highway and was compelled to turn around and take it off the road to a better resting place. And here I am now watching them in awe, living their lives on RU-vid!
Amazing footage! So she won the battle and swallowed that huge fish (alive?!) at the end entirely? The prey didn’t seem too happy when it was getting swallowed, I wonder, does it stand any chance of escaping or surviving if eaten in such a condition?!
That was cool! Beautiful video. I saw what I think was a grey heron on Sunday, when walking my dog. We have little canals near my apartment in North Irving, Texas, and I walk my dog over there sometimes, hoping to see the ducks. This time I also saw the large bird. I took some photos of it with my phone, then a little video. Turned the video off, and looked away for a couple of seconds, then heard a splash. Looked back to see the bird jumping out of the water with a fish in its mouth. I was so bummed I missed that on video! Then it flew across the canal to the other bank, and proceeded to pick up and drop the fish, almost like it was playing with it. If this was a heron, then I don't know how old (or young) it was, and I do not know if they "play" with their food before eating it. The heron in this video did not. If I could share my video on here, I would. I'd love to know if I did indeed see a grey heron or not, and what it might have been if not. I also missed it actually eating the fish. Again, stopped the video, because it was not focusing properly. Stopped right before I didn't see the fish anymore. Ugh! I'm glad photography is not my professional job. Lol It was still awesome to see and watch. I've never witnessed anything like that in nature before, and so close to my home, too. So cool!
I’d imagine what you saw was more likely a great blue heron as grey herons are a European bird. Easy mistake to make though as both birds are quite similar in appearance.
I 'M ALAWAYS AMAZED AT HOW THEY ACTUALLY SPEAR THE FISH WITH THEIR BEAKS RATHER THAN JUST GRABBING THEM OUT OF THE WATER .THAT WAS COOL! BEAUTIFUL VIDEO .
WWOOOWWWW ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL the creations of YAHWEH FROM WHOM ALL OUR BLESSINGS FLOWS IN CHRIST JESUS AMEN AMEN AMEN HALLELUJAH 💘 🙏 🙌 ❤ ♥ 💖 Thanks for sharing this 💞💞💞
No instant gratification here....which is GREAT! So nice and relaxing to be watching this. @4:45-ish, try to pause the video quickly, and go frame-by-frame. You get to see the bird release the fish from his beak and re-catch it. Quite impressive!
Hello brother. I wish you good luck. I hope that the sound of the old hen, the guarana bird awaits you, my brother. In need, this voice is very important.
I was bitten by a duck recently. It looked surprised, had never tasted Neoprene before. Thenn it triedv again. Being bitten by a duck is weird, cos they have no teeth and its just like a paper clip. However these ducks viciously stab at the carp in the pond. The video is beautifuzl, but what we see is not such beauty for the poor fish. The eyzes of the heron reflect complete homicidap psychopathy, Vicious killers.
