for hiding grey roots I use dark brown eyshadow, dark face powder - the cheapest one. For applying I use small sponge. It looks great, and it lasts few days. But the best one and my favorite is brown clay. I apply it with fingers to the roots (above basin as it can be messy) and this works at the same time as dry shampoo and it gives volume to my hair. I tried also pure raw-cocoa powder (de-oiled) - without any additives. It was good, but it wasn't my hair color - maybe if I mix it with white clay or starch. Cocoa powder is nourishing, full of vitamins and good for the hair and scalp. If all theese ingredients sounds strange to you - just check dry shampoo ingredients. Usually there is cornstarch as main ingredient, or clay, caolin, baby powder (which is clay mineral). All listed above are way cheaper and healthier for your hair than most products made for grey root hiding. There are clays of many different colors used in cosmetic (mainly for face masks) - green, white, yellow, pale brown, rose, red - so you can mix your color.
Thanks for comparing these. I’ve used the Wow and the much cheaper Clairol alternative. Like you I’m ambivalent about greying. I stopped permanent dying at the start of the year and got 8 months grey growth in before I used a semi permanent, thinking it would easily wash out (which it hasn’t). If you haven’t used permanent yet, I recommend not doing so. It is so harsh and the demarcation line is awful. I really relied on these root products during this process. Whatever you decide though you will look great!
Crikey, how have I missed this? I have used lockdown2 to start to grow out my permanent colour. I don't mind the grey so much as the horrible orange that my dyed hair has gone. Yuk. You have reminded me that I have some of these products, so will use them to help disguise the demarcation line between the two. Many thanks xx
just dyed my hair and it grows out so fast! i've got blonde roots and it makes me look bald. thank you a bunch for this video, i didnt know people so young could get gray roots :)

My natural hair color is similar to yours but every time I have my hair done I come back with a red/orange brown rather than a chocolate brown. Thanks for your help! x

Would be really interesting to find out the products of your choice. I’ve just turned 40 and I use mostly French pharmacy products such as le roche posay and bioderma and they seem to do a good job but I’m always interested in finding out more. Also could you make a video on blazers, I want to purchase an oversized blazer but every time I try them on they look too long even though I’m 1,69 meters, I just feel they make my upper body too long, however they look good on other people so I feel quite frustrated, maybe it’s just my perception. I’m also unsure whether to get a beige or a black, I have a white linen one which I wear in spring summer and looks great, not as voluminous, it’s the autumn winter one I’m struggling with. I’m a teacher and I work from home so I don’t really need it for work and I just had a baby, maybe it’s just something I don’t need hence the apprehension...thanks ❤️
