derek makes me so mad in this season. if he was so hesitant about signing the papers and it was so hard for him, why did he leave his wife and move out to seattle to get a girlfriend?? and then tell both addie and mer that he wanted addie gone? like did he not realize he was going to have to sign the papers eventually? that scene in the stairwell makes me so mad cuz he’s playing the victim when mer is the one he lead on with false hope. i mean in season one he spent like 4 episodes begging her to go out with him and she does and then he gets mad when she expects him to divorce his wife?? like did he think that addie didn’t exist anymore and he was going to get to stay with mer without divorcing her? it’s just so toxic and honestly doesn’t make a lot of sense.
yall are saying mer has pick me energy but correct me if im wrong she never really put down addie in order to get him even in her pick me choose me speech she said that addie is great and she was saying before that she was hard to hate like guys cmon she didnt know he was married and then he kept assuring her he was going to leave addie then he doesnt she has the right to be a lil angry and heartbroken
she gave him a chance, and after repeatedly reassuring her that addie meant nothing to him and that he would sign the papers, he chose to stay with addie. she gave him multiple chances and he let her down again and again.
