Greyhound race - The winner of this race didn't stop at the finish line 😰 

They are cared for as long as they're making money... After that it's a really sad story. Most won't find a home, they'll be taken to the vet and put down... I have a rescue, they're such sweet dogs. It's really sad how they're treated.

Yes they are being taken care well. There are adoption center for these kind of dog or just normal adoption center in general. Its depend on the owner's set of mind. Most of the dog are well taken care of after they retired.

@@drakebaxter957 That is not true. Greyhounds are not put down when they don't race anymore. The owners take them home, or they go to farms for breeding or they go to adoption groups and get adopted. Whoever told you they get put down is lying.

How about the mass grave they found in western Sydney a year ago? 8 dogs and 12 on the property starving and uncared for... Ruth I hate to say it but you're supporting an industry that literally kills dogs. Race tracks are dangerous places, tight bends, lots of dogs running side by side, they get injured and put down. The evidence speaks volumes of the industry. You know the saying... A few bad apples? People just say it's a few bad apples but the whole quote is, a few bad apples spoils the bunch...

@@drakebaxter957 Sorry, but the numbers do lie. In the USA, we have a shortage of available greyhounds and there are waiting lists at almost every adoption group. No greyhounds are killed here, ever. There are very few injuries on the track because they are groomed before each race. The bends are not too tight for them to run. I support an industry that loves their greyhounds and treats them like royalty. The greyhounds love to race. It's a game for them, like chasing after a ball in the yard. Racing does not kill. AU has strict regulations in place now and the greyhounds are taken care of and adopted out. You are believing the propaganda from lying, scam activist groups. Have you ever been to a kennel? Ever been to a track? Did you see a greyhound die at the track? What have you seen yourself?

@Jasmine Gadsden It is not a crate, it is a starting box and she put him in exactly like she should. First they have to take off their lead then they guide them into the box. Greyhounds are taught not to just run into the box because they need their lead taken off. They wait to be lifted in. Everything was done right.

We have adoption plans for retired racing greyhounds here in the U.S. too.

They're happy, well-adjusted dogs. There's a lot to be said for that. :)

Greyhounds are NOT put down if they don't win. They just go back to the kennel and try again in 4 or 5 days. Greyhounds that don't win are retired and go to adoption groups to find their forever homes or the owners keep them. You're living back in the 50's. There are over 100 adoption groups in the US and Canada that have waiting lists for greyhounds because there are so few available now. No greyhound is ever put down because they don't win or won't race at all. And they don't chase a bunny anymore, they chase a lure.

Once they’re injured or nonprofitable they throw them out like trash and/or kill them in whichever way they like. They seem to enjoy it because that’s all they know. That’s the only way they’ll get love is by winning. It’s sickening and people like you who are blind to the cruelty keeps this type of shi***t going. These dogs are suffering whether you like it or not. There’s more then what meets the eye.

@nay rod, No he was looking to keep racing because they love to race. You see how happy they were when they got to that lure? Wagging tails and jumping around.

Of course racing greyhounds get love and plenty of it. Greyhounds are surrounded by humans from the time they are born until they get adopted. They stay on the farm where they are born until they are 12 to 15 months old with their humans, both adults and children. Then they go to training where they are surrounded by more humans. Then they advance to the big kennels to start their racing careers. The handlers are with them every day, 7 days a week with no vacations or hoildays off. They are in the kennels with them up to 15 hours a day. They walk them, exercise them, play with them, give them rub downs every day, give them plenty of love, hugs and kisses. They get treats, they get a balanced diet and they get checked by a kennel vet before and after each race. Greyhounds get better love and care than most adopted dogs do.

@@noodlesandboots1434 How can a greyhound get exhausted from racing when they only race once or twice a week for a total of 38 to 40 seconds? That's all a race lasts. My own dogs run longer than that at a time. Where do you get your information from? Dogs have no idea that people gamble on them. All they know is they are playing a running game to see who gets the lure 1st. It's all fun for them. They love to race.

The dogs aren't stressed, in fact they need to do this. They are just exercising but with prize for the owner.

@@yurrev So walking my dog is wrong now? Look, this is how that dog exercise, people even walk them using a motorbike just so they could keep up with them. The rabbit are there to make sure the dog wont go elsewhere and keep them on track

How many owners do you know? How many kennels have you visited? How many greyhounds have you found homes for? I have been adopting, fostering and finding homes for retired greyhounds for 21 years now. I know owners, trainers and kennel owners personally. Tell me what cruelty you have seen with your own eyes. Not doctored up videos that activists want you to believe. Go to Greyhound Chronicles or Paint The Trail on youtube and see the REAL, undoctered videos of racing greyhounds from birth until retirement. Greyhounds are the most cared for breed on earth. Do your research, learn the truth, not what activists want you to know.
