Still the funniest and most memorable line from the whole show (for me) 😂😂 “Mama took my eyebrows. She took my eyebrows, and now I am a Burke” 😭😭 And when Meredith said (with so much sympathy) “they took her eyebrows and called her a Burke” lmao as if she’s been permanently maimed 😂😂 Just brilliant.
I'm not a woman, but as a man, I understood then and I understand now where Cristina is coming from. No doubt about it Many women watchin this would strongly agree with Cristina here.
@MattJames456 they really do! there's so many significant looks that come perfectly timed with the elevator ding. like the look bailey threw at sloan after her "manwhore" speech. XD
it's extraordinary how unhuman a person can look without eyebrows... unbelievable... does anyone know if they really shaved or plucked them or is it real good makeup or photoshop? sandra oh genius as always!!! hahaha
it is, and it's one of the reasons why it is not always legal. It varies, of course but some places it's illegal to shave your brows because it does dramatically alter your appearance, and at first glance, someone might not know *quite* why you look different.
I really don't understand how a lot of people think this scene is funny (a part from the expressions on Sandra's face). It's *painfully* *sad* and you can clearly hear it in her voice as well as hearing it directly from her at 1:15. She was stripped of her identity to become a "Burke" which was practically imposed on her. That is *violence* , and it would be hard and unfair to anyone let alone for such an indipendent, strong and smart woman like Cristina. She clearly didn't want to marry him and felt so out of herself.
spoiler.......srsly??? she was talking about stuff that happened like 4 seasons ago, like george dying, izzie, burke, adisson leaving, derek getting shot, lexie and mark dead, and i can go on.
if mama Burke were to tried to shave my eyebrow we would have a problem because if i have no eyebrows there will be no wedding my eyebrow are everything to me if they were gone i would be gone to
Because she feels like her whole identity as an independent woman is has bee taken away as a result of marrying Burke - she keeps giving into things over the wedding and as a result she keeps losing pieces of herself until she is physically no longer recognizable to herself...hence why she says to bailet do you ever feel like youre not yourself
