How do you "save" in newest version of gmsh? There is not basic "save" or "save as" in the menu. Just "save mesh" and "save model options" and "save options as default". Very un-intuitive!
Thanks. This video was very helpful. I am trying to solve flow in a pipe and this tutorial generates grid points at inlet, outlet and surface walls. how do you generate grid points within flow domain? Volume mesh? This is the first time I am using GMSH. apologies for silly question. You added BC as 'fluid'. Within flow domain, there is no grid point
Yes. For a 3D simulation one needs to have lines. The lines are connected to make surfaces. The surfaces are connected and enclose a volume. As a fluid resides in a 3D volume, then one would need a volume mesh.
@@SAEMiller Thank you so much for the response. I'm not sure if I understood completely. So, in the video above, do we have grid points within the flow domain? When you mentioned BC as 'Fluid' using 'Volume', that's what generates grid points inside pipe?
Mesh generation programs only create meshes. They can be applied with whatever solver you want. So, yes as long as you have developed a solver and can load a mesh.
