You gotta train him in your team career mode although after training him he’s still a bit inconsistent and there’s one perk that basically turns him into your wingman and lets you by everytime you get close to him
@@KevinAbillGaming also the longer I play the game I discovered that there is a attack mechanic for your teammate so you need to abuse it for valentin to do well
Fun fact: in career, the woman that resigned from ravenwest and joined seneca, will appear in seneca team in career mode. So yeah, it took place after you finished story mode.
@@Pennycilin3 So that video that ISAD uploaded where you race against Lara in Seneca colors and Yume wasn't just some randomization. But can what aspects of the of the "new team" can you customize in career mode apart from your driver name, number and team name? Maybe sponsors too?
The ending would have been better if the uncle pulled out a Glock in anger after his nephews defeat. Rage in his heart, he’s ready to take your life. Just as he’s about to shoot, A black 69 charger slides through with a sick drift that smashes into the uncle, saving your life. Flabbergasted, you look into the car to find none other than Dominic Toretto himself in the driver seat. Standing there shocked, dom says “Don’t worry, kid. I’ve got you. Youre family now” Roll credits: you find out you’re actually starring in Fast 15.
.....and you find out that you are actually Toretto's long lost son. And you happen to have superpowers for no reason, just like your father. *maximum creativity from hollywood*
I think its a inspiration from NFS Payback if we were to talk about the antagonists The new NFS will also going into that direction as well, and its going to be more chaotic when a guy named Razor is going to appear
@@hybridShinx nah fr they built up the relationship between you and your teammate so well that as soon as Nathan crashed her i was HEATED and i wanted him dead. If NFS gets this same treatment from Critereon and EA and possible Codemasters help it might just be the greatest in a while
Hope so NFS Payback and Heat had good stories. Grid Legends story isn’t over yet. There’s 4 DLC post expansion packs that’ll include more content to Driven To Glory. Can’t to see if it’ll be more intense.
@@succulenttrash3343 that fact that Nathan's car didnt flinch makes it even more suspicious, and amongst all drivers of that team has, Mckane was the only one who dont hesistate to shunt or run you off the track if not careful A good friend of mine whos a fan of the series made a fanfiction of it too
This final race was tough for me. Racing at night is hard on my eyes. Racing at night in the rain at blistering speeds on a track I am unfamiliar with? Yeah I bumped it down to Hard.

@@vaillant_500 I played it with racing line first time, and this stage was already quite challenging. Without racing line the 2nd time around. H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T. Exhilerating though, absolutely love it. Used cock pit view, which makes the weather effects that much more awesome (snow is also great, especially in cars with no wipers)
by her surname i assumed she was suposed to be portuguese since it's a very common surname here, but she can very well be a portuguese with spanish parents and it would be 100% believable
Bruh not James Randall 😭 It’s funny..I found myself watching Toca cutscenes without any idea that the mckane lore continued into present day. Really satisfying to see.
I may have beat this in one sitting but i gotta say the final race threw me off guard. This race legit gave me a run for my money with how hard this was. I never turned down my difficulty because I would not be satisfied doing this on anything lower. The music probably made my ears orgasm as probably for the first time in my racing years i heard a fricken choir with dnb. Outstanding
Finished the game today (since it came out in Xcloud recently) that was one of the hardest races i've ever raced, taking that both ravens fly low if you don't defend properly, apart from that took me 18 tries to get the hang of the track (and not get pushed off by a raven)
This is officially the first former protagonist (final) boss fight in the series and on the surface I love that. Beyond that though, I'm really angry at the ending. I know CM said they'd be putting out more story content later on, but I don't see this getting overturned, especially with the regular career mode being set up as a direct sequel to the story and Ravenwest having completely random drivers in it. Still maintain that they should've just made Rick Scott the protagonist, tied the cheating scandal to his firing and dived into why Ryan would do what he did, maybe bringing his personal tragedies from TOCA Race Driver 1 into the mix as an explanation for it.
Rick Scott in racing in another team i heard I hope Harrison Carter gets a seat in Ravenwest but with someone like James Randall running the team, i cant imagine what lies ahead
@@hybridShinx Which I hope will change in the next part of the story. Pace-wise he still has max stats, he's just stuck in the rookie category for seemingly no reason alongside another returning character from Autosport.
@@christendombaffler its sad to say but Ravenwest drivers who isnt Mckane, gets shafted at the back, very similar to Ferrari and Mercedes F1 team over the years
Hey, I remember seeing you stuff on that other video. Anyway, I'm guessing that the ending is just so they can maintain Ravenwest as the "villains" of the series in the truest sense rather than simply the pinnacle to defeat. Just the tone of James Randall's appearance came across that way as sort of dark. I agree with you on the sentiment that they really ruined the McKane's characters after having seen them through so many games and even playing as one of them. Partially feels like a shame that people just accepted they did that in the story instead of realizing its the same bull as a lot of other long running series, but I digress.
@@bigbear514 Ravenwest always seem to be untouchable somehow so its kinda suspicious Also in the wise words of Niko Bellic, "You cant predict what people would become", meant that Ryan Mckane has become greedy of winning
I was shocked and disappointed when I found out about Ravenwest and Nathan McKane. There were just cheaters, can’t believe it the Grid Champions are Grid Cheaters. Overall great story can’t wait for the DLCs to release more content to the story.
Anyone else get the replay mode bug. Where after completing a race, selecting replay doesn’t actually show the replay, but instead puts you in replay, but with full control of your car. All the Ai stop moving too
i dont think i like the idea of raventwest as a comically villain team that cheats. I've always had the impression that ravenwest is the best of the best. each member have their own strength in each category. They are the goal to reach and beating them prove that you are the best driver in the whole championship. sure they code the AI to be better than normal AI, but thats just game design. but now this cutscene ruin ravenwest for me. they are suppose to be the badass team that is far from your reach unless you put work to get up the ranks. thats just my interpretation.
I agree, EA ruined not just the image of Ravenwest, but also Ryan and Nathan McKane. I read once that (according to Wiki Fandom) they are known for no-holds barred racing style, but in Race Driver: Grid, Grid Autosport and Grid (2019 reboot), Ravenwest not just behave like the team to beat, but because it was developed and published by Codemasters, Ravenwest still behave by the example, and by the example I mean, to race with respect, treating other drivers with respect, win without cheating, and whether win or lose, to be an example to the crowd and other drivers. And by making Ryan McKane a cheater, they (EA) betrayed the TOCA fans by going against of how Ryan behaved in TOCA Race Driver 1 and his legacy in Race Driver: Grid, Grid Autosport and 2019 Grid. If there´s a sequel and they want to have Nathan McKane and Rick Scott (as drivers) and Ryan McKane as the manager of Ravenwest, they will need to reboot again the franchise, because if not, the scars of the series fans hearts, won´t heal easily.
Also, Ryan McKane is literally the main hero of the first TOCA Race Driver game, and his story is that James Randall actually causes his father's death and his brother getting injured.
Crazy that the other cars are just better in every way. You're drafting off the guy in first, hitting top speed, but that AI's acceleration is just so much faster than yours as well. It screams to me like it's not actual physics running for the AI, but instead just making them go faster to keep the tension up.
Yup. The main career mode has story narative, The Gauntlet tournament actually has elimination system, and it ends on NYE when all entrants use prototype racer on final race. Definitely nailed the RR4 vibes
Fun Fact: The final race of Ridge Racer Type 4 takes place on the same day of this race, December 31 and both are at night. This is definitely a throwback to Ridge Racer Type 4.
What the bloody hell happened to the mckane family, I know Ryan lost his dad to a car crash cause by some jerk, but now seeing this................what a complete downward spiral for Ryan
First fukuda san ruins shinn's personality on seed destiny, second astruc ruins chloe's personality on miraculous and now codemasters ruins ryan mckane by turning him into a cheater and ravenwest by putting james randall as new owner of ravenwest, seriously it smell like worst story in here
Its more a similar plot to Terminator here How it fools us to think that John Connor was the saviour but didnt becuz he got taken by Skynet in a ambush and turned him into one of their own instead
EA kinda reversed what happened in TOCA Race Driver 1, Nick Landers (James Randall) is taken away by Spooley (I don´t know how it´s spelled) because of his defeat at the hands of Ryan in the Lola World Championship. And because of Ryan´s arrest here, is like reversing the roles. But, with James as the new owner of Ravenwest, don´t you think he´ll be more cheater, cold and ruthless than Ryan? If there´s a sequel to this game, they will need to do a new reboot because longtime and hardcore fans, won´t have their hearts scars healed easily. And to have them healed, I recommend Codemasters to break with EA, and develop and publish the game themselves; and make Ryan, Nathan, also Rick and others Ravenwest drivers and team staff, just like in Race Driver: Grid, Grid Autosport and 2019 Grid, by racing and showing the example to fans and drivers. That means, no cheating, congratulating you whether you beat or defeat them, and by making Ryan to behave just like he was in TOCA Race Driver 1.

Yeah, I´ve beat Race Driver: Grid in my PS3 many times and it still is one of Codemaster´s gems. The other 249 teams (plus yours) and Lumenition (the team which I believe in the game is Ravenwest´s rival), never returned, neither in Grid Autosport and 2019 Grid
@@samuraispeed5533 Many of Race Driver GRID teams are also in real life, such as Team Orange, they were so famous in D1GP in the hands of Nobushige Kumakubo.
Just "finished" the career mode after getting GRID Legends for free on Prime Day. I "finished" it between quote marks because, for some reason, even though I finished 1st, the game didn't count it as a win (most likely because both my laps were probably invalidated due to corner cutting). Definitely bullshit, but I'll take the W regardless :P
