I was born and raised in griffin I fortunately moved away from that place. I still visit family but the town has went to hell since the mills shutdown it is so sad, I wouldn't want my kids growing up there. But good video going down memory lane it's sad at how it changed
I currently live here, it's not the best place but it works for me and my daughter. We stay in a good part of Griffin and I have very cheap rent on a 2 bed house. Less than 600 a month. Still looking to get out soon. Griffin is a temporary spot for ppl not a place for roots in my opinion.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I completely understand, I was super lucky to find my house when I did. I moved in a little over 4 years ago and was renting through Spalding Gas/Musgrove and then when Covid hit they sold my property. But it's got so many problems and needs so much updating to meet codes that I think that's why no one has messed with my rent to increase it.
He shoulda drove straight down and crossed the bridge to hit one hood in griffin and another one is over off Poplar and merriweather. I've been here to long

Im from Griffin, it’s in the middle of being of being regentrified for an expanding rich old folks community so sadly in ten years most of those homes will be gone, and they will change the name from Griffin to Sun City Ga.
Perhaps, instead of judging a city you are driving through, a city you obviously know nothing about, you should maybe talk with someone that lives here. You couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes there are areas that aren’t as nice as others, but most cities do have that. Griffin is nothing like your Philly/Bronx idea. I resent you classifying it as a “hood” city based on the small area you drove through. Griffin/Spalding County is the home of Sun City Peachtree, A Dell Web retirement community. People have relocated here from all over the country. Many nice new homes are being built all over. You only quoted the city of Griffin statistics. Many of the neighborhoods are located in the county and the Spalding county population is much larger. Almost 67k and includes the 23k city population. Griffin has many things going for it. There are two theater groups, two concerts groups, a ballet theater, an Opera House, a 1200 seat auditorium, several mega churches, and a great downtown area (of which you only drive through a small portion) Griffin is also a camera ready city. NBC is filming a show here now, Stalwart Studios films here regularly. (Including many scenes from “The Walking Dead”.) Portions of many movies have been filmed here. I’ll stop now at the risk of bragging, however I would respectfully suggest that you check with the Chamber of Commerce to get real information before you start condemning a wonderful community such as Griffin Georgia.

I’m from griffin! Still here & attend the local high school .. it’s not the best county the population has most likely declined because of how terrible it is. the community is either extremely high maintenance wealthy people or highly judgy & a bad influence most people that are still in griffin were born there along with their great grandparents lol, most people leave the county at 18.
I love Griffin Georgia so many house and it big to you and your wife be traveling to do you ever get tired. I never heard Griffin be safe and have a bless day.

Griffin is very very self contained, There is NO other cities around them, people do not leave to go places everything they need is right there. It’s a mill town with closed mills, Everyone there is a Local it’s called the grip you can’t escape it’s grip!! It’s not like people go to other towns. Its not a bad town just very contained. You should be nicer pick out positives!!
Their use 2 be a dundee mills there and it shut down in 1998 there is another place call 1888 mills aka ( southern Terry is still in business also there is a small airport off of hill street going toward 19/41 which use 2 be a 2 lane road years and years ago
Griffin is a bit of both worlds. You have your shitty gritty sides. And you have your richer sides. It's a very small yet large city. Griffin is weird af. Teen pregnancy is High. Same with meth addiction. It's hit or miss. The people can't drive. A lot of them can be rude. But you find a few decent people. I've meet a ton of cool people from the area.
