I’ve been butterflying my drumsticks a lot recently, and they come out delicious no matter how you cooked them. The seasoning goes through it really well.
There is a video "How Chinese Chef Cooks Garlic Fried Chicken Drumsticks" which he does the butterfly and also changed the way I fry chicken. No more buttermilk or milk, just marinate with egg spices corn starch coat in flour and fry. It was best I ever had.

That’s a great technique to increase the surface area of those drumsticks. Never thought of that. Looks delicious. And those are the biggest “tablespoons” I’ve ever seen in my life. Ha ha.
Looks like it's just US that wash our chicken...Lol, fun fact I used to work in a chicken manufacturing plant( down South we call it "The Poultry" and those birds obviously come in live, then are beheaded and defeathered, sprayed with water, DROPPED on the ground, put in those styrofoam trays, wrapped in plastic and packaged for the stores). THAT CHICKEN IS DIRTY!
@@armandr1613 I do the same, I soak them in water, salt and vinegar solution for about more or less/ between 5-10 min. Then I rinse them with running water then season them as I like. It also tastes better/clean in my opinion once cooked.
I've never thought to butterfly a drumstick, but I'll be doing it from now on. I just saw that seasoning in Walmart yesterday. I'm going back to get it.
I've never butterflied one either, but I can tell you this that Chica lica bam bam is on another level when grilling or smoking chicken. I will try this technique on some legs next time I throw some on.

I know this was gonna a sensational video when he said “Chicka-Licka BAm Bam” Never used it but if “Smack ya Mama” seasoning is delicious. I know this seasoning so good you they had to speak it in tongues to name it…
Why is everyone in the comments freaking out over washing chicken? The heat takes care of anything that could possibly be an issue. That’s the key as well; chicken isn’t 100% for sure dangerous raw. Actually pretty low chance anything would happen if you ate raw chicken.
@@claudexandam again, rare only happens with infected animals, that why cooking it kills it, but if you have a animal that is not infected you'd be fine. you can also look up how it is transmitted itd also include that.
