You know what would be really crazy for the train? Upgrade with 2 transport carriages so you got transport(22). Just put everything in there and have it plow into the enemy and drop 2 ten men squads of berserkers at the chosen target, or 20 iron veterans with shotguns. Dwarfs may be slow but their trains are not. Your speed will only allow you to run away faster.

I had my first game with these guys the other day. I used the land train. So fun, would recommend the army. If you're using the OPR dwarf models they print like a dream and they have very few long/thin pieces that break easily and most models will fit in foam trays due to their stocky builds.
My configuration for the land train was to take the extra transport carriages and throw in a unit of veterans and a unit of elites with a champion. Park your def 2, 24 Toughness, 12 inch long block of locomotive resin next to an objective, and when the enemy come close, deploy the hammers/shotguns in their face. Since they have to come close to the objective anyway, the shotguns and hammers will be in range while being nice and safe against any blast weapons for 1-2 turns before you unleash them. For weapons, I used the big AA gun on it, but dealer's choice really.

the paint job is deceptively easy. It is a white primer, then speed paint the skin hair and metalics. Then it is a black oil wash that distresses the white to what you see. Then for the vehicles i did a black sponge to get some chipping and silver paint in the larger black spots to simulate the paint coming off the hulls.
For the last few months our group as been playing with 3000 points, BUT about 1000 of those points must be spent on either a Titan sized model or a few of the big tanks. Keeps the number of models down to a reasonable level, and allows the gig guys to pretty much cancel each other out. The Dwarf Guilds with an excavator and its escorts are next in the stack.
they are on the schedule to do! There is going to be a "minor powers" army with the inquisition and the jesters. Just because there isnt enough units in their army book to fill out a 2000 point list. So I'm going to throw out the force organization chart for that one
