It's really magical to see someone take a piece of darkness and transform it into something uplifting. And how it carries everyone away on the cloud with it...
Well the comment is true but Grimes actually cares what people thinks which is why she gets a lot of anxieties and panic attacks. She said she never got over her stage frights. She even got a panic attack after being on SNL. Because she cares what people think of her she tries hard to be original and different. If she didn't care what people think she will have other people produce for her and will be just another pop star.
@@CrimsonEclipse I dont think producing her own songs comes from her caring a lot abt what people think. Her having creative control over her songs is just something every artist wants but a rare case gets the opportunity to do so. There is a lot of self criticism and self doubt that has to be overcome when you are taking control over your art. She does care about what people think of her as a person or a performer but she has idgaf attitude as an artist.
What I really find captivating in this performance is how flawlessly she moves between producer and singer. There's no back up band, no dude in the corner, it's just her jumping between the front and back of the stage and having the time of her life doing it.
@@NPCHSN oh honey it is not good enough for you to be thinking she is lip syncing, please go back and listen to the studio version of this song. she is triggering loops and playing melodies and creating new loops over top like most musicians who do it this way,, which she is not the first or only or even the best. this is still a really fun performance and idk why ppl come here and talk out of their ass as if you need to
What era? This was in 2014, but her vocals is not technically good live. It's not bad, but her past live performances are subpar in technicality. However, she is a good producer & a performer.
Everyone saying she went blonde for Elon should watch this. She has changed her hair like a million times lol I miss these times in my life so much. Grimes was such an integral part of my teenage years, especially this song. It got me through my SA. Grimes has healed me in so many ways ☺️
Doesn't matter if he did that for him or not. We still know he is an abuser and she clearly abused Grimes as well. She used her for carrying more descendants for him. I hope Grimes know we will support her no matter how much power that guy has.
I know I sound like a boomer but crowds were way better pre-2015. So much more engagement and less people trying to look cool, or having their phones unwavering in front of their face. It was a good time to go to shows 2008-2014.
This Grimes is my spirit animal! I wish we had this Grimes again. This song makes me so happy even though the lyrics are really dark the beats are so uplifting. I love how carefree she is here and I love this song!!!
I’m addicted to her voice… and this moment in particular is just peak. She’s so herself and special. I love her dancing, and the dancers are perfectly seamless with her vibe. I can’t get enough of her tearing her scrunchy out of her hair just in time for the verse..
Love everything, but as a dancer I must say , this choreographic setting is simple yet wholesome, authentic, magical, fierce... What a refreshing moment....in an era where dance and choreography seems to serve more a plastic aesthetic. We need more of this! ✨❤️ I'm in love
@@MrLeadghostsucks so hard you had to click the video, scroll all the way to this comment, read it, think of a reply, type it out, and hit send. Get well soon, bud.
@lilballerina I have no need to " get well soon" as I happen to be quite well currently. In fact my success in trolling you actually improves my state. As for the song ( and your tastes) I double down that this is dogshit.
@@MrLeadghost I too clicked on this video, because I know that Grimes is Elon Musk's gf and I was curious what her music is like. It's garbarge. Elevator music for teeny boppers. Another commenter said "she just doesn't give a fuck." That's for sure.
i’m so happy that she’s getting so much recognition bc she’s so talented and the world needs to experience her music but god i want this era back so bad
i’m not a huge fan of her music personally, but she is so captivating in this and idk how to explain it, shes got this certain energy thats so alluring or something idk
It's great to see her performing with such a lively crowd, there are some videos of her performing with a quiet audience and you could see the difference in her moves
BEEN THROUGH? She sold out her integrity to F a Billionaire. Now she has more $$$ than God for the rest of her life. She hasn't been through a damn thing but being rich her whole life. Her mom was a Prosecutor and her dad was a Banker.
one sees this and thinks: why is she scared of going live, she was one of the best performers of this decade, we really miss an artist like her even if she was alone performing on the stage she could get the attention of thousand of people. i respect that she doesn't feel like this anymore but it makes me feel sad nonetheless
I never walk about after dark It's my point of view 'Cause someone could break your neck Coming up behind you Always coming and you'd never have a clue I never look behind all the time I will wait forever Always looking straight Thinking, counting all the hours you wait See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night And no, I'm not a jerk I would ask if you could help me out It's hard to understand 'Cause when you're running by yourself It's hard to find someone to hold your hand You know it's good to be tough like me But I will wait forever I need someone else To look into my eyes and tell me "Girl, you know you've got to watch your health" To look into my eyes and tell me La la la la la To look into my eyes and tell me La la la la la La la la la la La la la la la La la la la la La la la la la See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night See you on a dark night
the fact i knew grimes music when i was a kid and liked it but since im arab i couldn't understand or keep up with her and now she's my most played artist on spotify
I think what makes Grimes' music so interesting is how she tows the line between consonance and dissonance. Often times adding "incorrect" sounds into a piece of music can elevate it beyond what you could do with sounds that all perfectly fit together. This is something that trained musicians struggle with but iirc Grimes just kinda started making music for fun without any training. This provides a level of freedom to just feel the music and do what sounds good to you more than most other artists have.
@@ramanmono Still, it sounds she was forced to. When I read in Wiki a few years ago that Musk already had kids with other women, I was afraid Grimes might be his next "victim", which, unfortunately, became true. In my opinion, she deserved someone better, but if her heart follows him, we shouldn't interfere.
