I have ground thousands of loads with our New Holland 353. Couple things: 1. We always put minerals or supplements in before we grind then when you’re done grinding it’s all mixed up 2. If the grinder is sitting level, the level of the feed will get to the top of the top window. All the sudden it will drop about 3-4” in the window, that’s when it’s full. If you keep going after that it will push up out the hatch on top 3. Always have the tractor pto off when you engage the unloading auger. The bevel gears that run it are really hard to find and you can chip them if you kick it in with the pto on 4. We always got nervous leaving it full for a couple days even with dry grain we have had it set up in there. Get one of those little grain feeder wagons at the consignment auction Love the videos keep them coming! Just trying to prevent more sadness!!

Seems like yesterday I watched you put that new motor on that bin auger . That old mixer works pretty well , only that one little leak. Livestock will appreciate your effort .17 performed admirably . Great video Ross , see ya tomorrow

The bovines will be pleased. Your set up does indeed beat shoveling. I shoveled ear corn into a mixer mill once a week for almost 40 years. I wonder why I have arthritis in my back?

Now you need a corn barn to park the rig in now. Then you can pick ear corn to your hearts content and park the grinding rig in the middle 😂

Just a suggestion, grind enough till you see it circulating in the mill then add your supliment. Finish grinding. It mixes more thoroughy and you dont run out of room at the end for all the suppliment.

Sometimes a guy just has to tinker with older equipment to get it to run. But hey, how much would it cost to get a new one, a heck of a lot less for this oldie but goodie that's for sure. As always, enjoyed watching your view. Thanks Ross, I hope you have a great day!

I love grinding feed. I use an Oliver 88 to do that and sometimes I get 2 ft flames coming out of the exhaust. Cool stuff. Sure it's a little underpowered but it gets the job done I don't have to shovel so fast. We have a Gehl 100 mill. I'd grind every day if I could. Your bovines are looking pretty nice.

Leaving feed in a grinder mixer always makes me nervous since we had a mixer draw moisture and the corn get hard. That was not fun getting in the mill a chipping and scooping out by hand. Always put it in the wagon, or a feeder after that.

Your setup beats the hell out of shoveling. 1755 is a nice running tractor. Ive ground alot of corn with many different tractors mainly a 4020, and 355 mill

Ross, you might think about adding some minerals with your corn grind. I know many would disagree with that process but, we did it and it worked just fine for us with our beef cattle. In fact, saved us money with constantly having to buy mineral blocks all the time. I still say you should look into a grain vac, wonderful tool. Will you fix that big "ding" at the top of the mixer?

Cool video Ross! All those moving parts are fun to watch. I have no idea what they are doing to get what you're doing did lol! Just like when you were bailing the other day. How the heck does a machine square hay and then tie a knot around it....mind boggling for us guys that didn't grow up around these machines lol! It's always fun to hang out with you no matter what you're doing and looking forward to the next one!
