there was this time, I was playing in a brig with two of my friends, we had a ritual skull in our ship, and we're going to Reaper's Hideout to sell it, when, out of nowhere, the "Battle For The Sea Of Thieves" event triggered and two skeleton Galleons jumped from out of the water (one of my friends was AFK) and together with them, a pink meg, we were screwed, our ship was sinking, my friend told me to get the ritual skull and jump to some rocks nearby that they were going to find me, and while I was waiting for them, a player Galleon spotted me on the rock and was coming my way to stole whatever I had in me, and suddenly the water around them turns black, and the kraken sunk their ship, saving me and the sacrificial skull.

Before you jump out on an island to start digging chests or hunting skeletons. Take a good look around you and see if there are any other ships on the horizon. If you spot any, keep them in mind as you venture on an island. That way you won't have a surprise attack while you're minding your own business.

The fun part about getting pirate legend is the journey. If your journey is filled with repetitive grindy bs or is devoid of danger or thrill then pirate legend won't mean anything

vicic You can have fun and grind at the same time. That’s what a skeleton fort is pretty much. I don’t have good enough friends to do a FoTD or skeleton ships though. Also, skull missions are fun and so are chest missions. I think with the emissary system you can make simple missions have higher rewards and have them still be fun.

@@willp4623 Oh yeah definitely!! A lot of the game is essentially grinding. What I mean is if you strip down any danger or thrill from the game it will become very bland and boring. When you do a skull fort, even if nobody came, it was still fun because someone COULD have come and there was geunine risk while doing it. Other players and this risk and reward system is what makes the game fun, dynamic and rewarding to play. When you kill someone after chasing them down or finally get the upper hand in a situation where you almost sunk or run away and manage to sell your stuff just in the nick of time. When you fuck up and get killed and lose your loot, it will suck. But that's exactly what makes those victories that much more important and fun.

vicic I actually think that the danger of other players is actually the most exciting thing about the game. Everything that’s hard is fun, or at least not boring. It’s exciting. The only aspect of the game I don’t really like is the Kraken, because it just annoying. Especially when you steal everything from a thieves haven run, and then the full galleon you sank that had all that loot starts chasing you, and just as we get away, a kraken spawns and you sink, thus wasting 45 minutes of tense battles (based on a true story). To be fair though, the battles were pretty fun.

mostly trash the point is that it’s a shared sandbox world and it can be played many different ways. So ‘supposed to’, no, but fun sure.

It's a fun way to play. I love fucking up kracken bots. Me and my buddy hackettaus took down a server alliance awhile back and I miss doing that. It's way more fun if you are good
