In 1948 the Holden / General Motors car company produced the first fully fledged Australian production car the FX, this monumental achievement was the birth of the Australian car industry. A prosperous post war nation finding its feet as an industrial innovator.
In the late sixties the iconic New South Wales racetrack Bathurst crafted not only God’s of Australian racing history folklore but also production cars that to this day live in the hearts and minds of generations of Australians. Bob Jane, Peter Brock and Dick Johnson but to name a few drove Toranas, Falcons and Commodores at plus 200km speeds around a rural racetrack with little if any safety barriers. This was the golden era of Australian production cars.
Sadly as years progressed we let go of this mastered art of car production until sadly one day it was all gone.
This is Grindhouses love letter to the Australian car industry.
