Both my collies are very calm and laid back I got to beautiful collies and couldn't asked for a beautiful breed I have always had wonderful dogs in my life but I love my collie breed ❤
I have a smooth collie and a rough collie they're both mellow and laid back ♥️ I couldn't ask for a better breed they are so loyal and willing to please ❤❤❤
Sorry to read that as Collie are know to require high exercice maintenance. Its so important to read about the breed before choosing one , hope you’ll find a way
What I found is that you dont need to necessarily have 2 hours walks to bring their energy down. My rough collie gets completely tired after playing 'search' with her for 15-20 minutes. So hide small peaces of food in boxes etc (start easy, so she figures out the game as 'search' means she needs to use her nose and figure out how to get the food from certain boxes). My recommendation(cannot stress this enough, they know what theyre doing), go with your collie to puppy training class (usually 5 weeks, once a week), it completely changed my way of thinking, I always thought physical exercise is needed , but apparently not as much as I thought at all, they showed me how to calm here with different games, rather than pure physical exercise and also at 4 months 20mins max for her now anyways as it can be bad for her bone structure in future (rules is 5min per 1 month)... So I do take her for 30min walks every day, sometimes longer, but with mind games shes really calm now. shes approaching 6 months now. Hope this helps!
@@LaGamyne I did research the breed before we got a puppy and had experience with one when I was a child. I've read that they usually adapt their energy levels to their owner's. I hope that is the case as she matures.
@@peivz Good advice. Thanks. We do the box games and have a big backyard for her to run around in. She loves to play fetch. But I would say that, on average, she's up and running 3 to 4 hours a day. The good news is that she's getting everyone in the household, including our lazy Saint Bernard, more physically fit.
Your collie puppy reminds me so much of my collie Barney when he was a puppy. Please enjoy your collies youthful energy everyday because they get old so fast and you will look back at these wonderful memories with a smile that's bittersweet . My collie lived to age 12 until he passed away in front of my eyes from a sudden bladder hemorrhage....RIP Barney!
Love your puppy...we have a 6 year old collie.... Rusty is the 6th collie we have. Watching yours makes me want another puppy. Enjoy....beautiful puppy.❤️
