26:25 How to burn the HEX-file to the Arduino Nano
In this video I show the struggles I had trying to make a DIY throughhole version of the Mutable Instruments Grids. I turned out great in the end, but the path there was long and winding, which explains why this video took so long ;)
Anyways, it shows you how to make a fully working grids or a "gris" (which means pig in swedish), on quite a low budget (about 40$)

That’s a great bit on insight there. I’ve had one particularly troublesome trouble chip that I kept swearing up and down could only be software. Actually it really could have been software i just scrapped the module in the end

Thanks for this vid, helped me troubleshoot a few things. Still having some issues though. I realized I grabbed an Arduino Nano Every as opposed to a straight nano, was able to get the hex flashed on but needed to make a batch file to do it properly. Now I'm running into this issue where when it's powered on only the ch 3 led lights and I can't seem to get the Reset button to light. I did solder it backwards once by accident but I'm fairly sure I fixed it. The red line on those switches indicates negative right? Any thoughts you might have would be great. Currently continuity testing to make sure it's all kosher but visually it all looks fine

The reset button has a small extrusion on the bottom which should be in the extra hole on the pcb footprint. The red marking just show the color of the led. Perhaps also orientation. But I use the small extrusion on the back. If you put it in backwards it won’t sit as snug and when you put the panel on it will be pressed all the time. Can you hear/feel a click when you press it? Or else you could be in settings mode which could explain the ch3 light. So there is no output either then?

@ figured out that I did have the switch soldered properly but I am not having luck solving the ch3 light issue. Gonna keep investigating but either I've messed something up on the board or I'm having an issue with the Nano. We'll see as I investigate. Really appreciate your suggestions thus far!

Ok. Question is what is different with the nano board you have. Is it not a standard arduino nano? That could be a thing then. It has to have the atmega328 chip on it. Does it have that?

Ah that could be it. It's a Nano Every as that's all that was available near me. It's an ATMega but a 4809@

Need to check, if could do pcb with cnc (or is it RCB/MCB?), have all other parts already. Thanks for sharing!

It might be hard with a cnc as it is dual layers. But I guess it is possible if you are really thourough. You need some software that translates the Gerber files to gcode though.

@ FlatCAM is for that, can do 2-sided too. Nice freeware
