Thank you so much for this presentation. This has given me some great leads and touched on some familiar places and names within my own genealogical research to pursue a Huguenot relationship.

My relative was Jacob Remy Son of Pierre Remy, son of Jaques Remy, son of (noble) Georges Remy son of Diedier Remy a French noble. He fled as a Huguenot to England had his lands in France seized, came to Virginia as an indentured servant. Married his masters daughter, was freed, died with his own land and an American citizen. My grandfather LaFamond Reamy, his eventual grandson made his way to Texas where we are now. I Could've been nobility 😢 at least I'm a Texan 😊 I'll take that!

There are some that believe they migrated into the Appalachian’s, and some labels as melungions, with branches migrating to West Virginia, Kentucky and southern Tennessee!

I too thought, I'm French. I'm rethinking that. My Huguenot family ancestors from Duchy of Brittany, including Nante, St. Malo, and in between-- lived there beyond the 1400's. Brittany was forced to become a part of France 1532-7? Brittany is one of the six Celtic nations. It had its own Celtic based language which they are now reintroducing into the schools in Brittany. All schools had to teach in French-it was a law. Perhaps I'll say, I'm Breton, rather than French. I've heard that my sir name was seen in Viking times. It's even in the Bible. Hard to trace that family connection! My ancestor, Mathieu Agee, fought with William of Orange to displace James VII, catholic king of England. Mathieu arrived in Virginia in the late 1690's and lived in Manakin Town. Later Powhatan County- to Cumberland County where there is a road, Agee Lane.
