Grizzlies on the BEARTOOTH CREEK TRAIL 

After watching the sunrise on Beartooth Butte, I hike the Beartooth Creek trail on a frozen September morning and find lots of grizzly tracks on the trail and discover some beautiful lakes above 10,000 ft in elevation.

Beartooth Lake is located on the Wyoming side of the Beartooth Mountains in what is commonly referred to as the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. As such this area has a high population of grizzly bears and even wolves and wolverines can be spotted here. It is truly one of the most wild places in the continental United States.
