I just stumbled over your channel and I'm pissed off because the YT algorithms has hidden your channel from me all these years. Excellent footage, thank you for sharing. SUBSCRIBED.
JIm - I think about that all the time. One winter a friend told me. Let's drive down the road about 15 miles and we will see the wolves come up over a ridge and down to this gully. He was right and we in a car made it there only minutes ahead of the wolves. The distance and terrain didn't even phase them.
@@Yellowstonewolves I set up on some mustangs at Theodore who miles away went a couple hundred yards to set up an they were already there moment experiences you can’t capture with a camera
I use to track for one of the biggest most famous guide services in the world. So.... there is no sense trying to run from a bear... they can run about 35mph give or take. And they can do this like forever.. umm just as fast up hill that they can go down hill. So
Thanks, will do! Sometimes these critters are really hard to catch. I use to look at the landscape, then I use to try to see various animals, now I try to find behaviors. I have never seen a Cougar or Wolverine yet out there.
Thank you Jody! I just posted a new video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZFPtRxkZ-0E.html "The War Continues" this time Wolf-vs-Grizzly this one was fun to watch so I shortened it down for others to watch in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you again for commenting too!
Nagyon igaz editkiss. Van egy másik videóm is, amelyen néhány farkas látható, amint bölényborjak után mennek. Elképesztő látni, milyen erősek a bölények.
@@Yellowstonewolves Thank You Sír! ( Nagyon szépen köszönöm)! Kedvelem a videóikat, original természetközeli felvételek, páratlan élményt nyújtanak számomra.☺️
I knew "my boy" would come out on top😂👍❤.. coulda been a different story, tho, if more than one wolf.. and if wolves were young or not and their "dominance" level. God, I love these videos! ❤❤
Courageous wolf. I think he backed down because he had his fill though. He probably thought it was not worth the effort to fight and risk injuries. If it was not for that I think he would have run off the bear. Before anyone says it, technically yes the bear is bigger as a much higher chance of winning a fight but in the wild animals don't think like us. For predators especially it's a risk and reward kind of thing. Most animals don't have medicine or hands like us to deal with infections and parasites. So that's why you see even big animals run away from smaller bolder guys. Better to not get injured and find a meal elsewhere than stay, fight, gets some scratches, and risk whatever infection.
It suits the ravens (and an eagle in the previous clip) for these larger mammals to be haggling over the remains, they can keep on scavenging. The bear and wolf act out quite a chess game, they definitely are strategic thinkers
@@Yellowstonewolves There may not be very many in that area. I have never been to Yellowstone, and can't even recall any visitors reporting any sightings. Most people seem to see more bears, bison and wolves. The big cats, if they are there would tend to be more elusive than the other animals. Sadly, the ancestors of the people in my area to the east, were so fearful of the mountain lions, that they were hunted to extinction. People have reported seeing them in New England and surrounding states, but wildlife authorities insist that there are no existing populations of them. If one is seen, it is most likely a male that has wandered 1500 miles or more in search of a territory of his own. He may find plentiful food, but he will never find a female in these states, because females do not wander that far, nor do they need to. I have spent most of my 66 years in the rural areas of Western Massachusetts. I have seen and encountered a good amount of wildlife here including black bear, deer, moose, coyote, fox and all sorts of smaller critters. But even though they say bobcats are plentiful in pretty much every state, i have only seen one of those in the wild. All felines tend to be elusive and loners throughout most of their lives. And they have probably seen me out in the woods many times where i never knew they were there. Anyway, i do hope that you will see a cougar and have the chance to film it in one of your future videos. You do provide great content. New subscriber here.
Well others have spotted one now and then. I saw prints of one where I was standing the next morning and yet they are elusive. I will find one someday.
Interesting to see how animals can see that another one is young and inexperienced. Even the Coyote tested that young bear, half expecting to be able to chase it away,
Tigers are beyond my expertise, never seen one. Now Lions I would love to see and look for them all the time. I don't know what would happen between a wolf and mountain lion. You are right one wolf to a bear and I would think the bear would come out on top.
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you look at the 1:19 mark you will find the color and hump. I took the video that day and have been watching bears for years. That is in fact a a grizzly and not a black bear. The bear is not black - sorry but it is a grizzly.
