I have had a grizzly bench top mortiser for several years now. Recently my daughter asked me to make seven walnut seats to go on top of an L shaped window seat frame in her home. She wanted breadboard ends on each seat. I had to make six mortises and tenons on each seat, a total of 42. It was a big job even with the mortiser. The next project I will use it on will be a porch swing for my grandson. I am very glad that I have it.
Hi there! There's a couple solutions: There's a set of wet stones like the ones sold on www.grizzly.com/search?q=whet+stones to help get a flat-hone on the outside of the chisel, and then a “nut file” style of sharpening chisel for the interior bevel. However, it can be more economic to simply replace the chisel with a higher quality and therefore more durable chisel. The choice comes down to what makes the most sense to you! Hope that helps!
