I also had a ton of leftover yarn from knitting socks and decided to crochet the granny stripe blanket. It truly is beginner friendly because I don’t crochet (I tried it once many years ago and did one item and never did it again so I was truly starting as a beginner). It is so easy and quick and mindless and is using up tons of leftover yarn. I would recommend it.

For a scrap blanket I highly recommend the Northeasterly Blanket! It's a lovely arrow-like pattern and it's so simple and fun to knit! I tried a cozy memories blanket and just could not deal with all the squares. Also it has a complimentary pattern called the Southeasterly that has extra textures you can use in the blanket! Brioche, eyelets, seed stitch, etc. So if you get bored of garter you can add in some fun textures.

I love to watch you two! Please don't feel embarrassed about your skin issues. I love that you're so real with everyone. :) My son has great success with Eucerin cream for his eczema. He gets huge red patches all over his chest and arms and it works amazingly well to control the redness and itchiness without steroids. He's actually managed to be rash-free for a few months since he started to use it daily, which is a good thing because we are in Florida and it's swampy and muggy and icky here.

Hi Ladies! I wanted to say I LOVE your podcast. My mom taught me to knit as a kid, but wasn't super into it. Taught myself how to crochet in high school and played with it on and off through the years. Just last summer, went on a trip with my mom who had always wanted to learn to knit socks. So, while on vacation, we when to LYS and I picked up some supplies to give it a try. Thanks to youtube, I knit my first pair of socks (toe-up shorties with a FLK heel). That was it - I was addicted as they say. Since then, I've found your podcast (working through all your past episodes) and my mom STARTED HER OWN PODCAST! What?!? (Knit, Purl, and Squirrel with Granny Dee Thompson if you want to give her a look). Anyway, about to go on vacation with my mom again, and you've inspired me to try a sweater! SO, what do you think would be a good starter sweater? I don't do any colorwork yet, so looking for something simple. I live in south Florida, so something lighter would be best. Thanks for being so lovely and real. I giggle along with you in every podcast. Love, peace, and yarn. Lyndsay :)

Introverts unite!!! I’m just like Jodi, where I just struggle to leave the house but I always have a great time after I get wherever. The new shawl is as beautiful as expected. Name: Carbon drops because the slip stitches look like rain drops. Love your shorty socks Tracie! And love the giveaway! As soon as I saw that Finley yarn I thought, Perfect for the new Carbon Drops shawl! (Saw what I did there?)

1. Create a blank base layer to size of desired finished product. 2. Pull original image onto the blank base layer. 3. Duplicate image layer. 4. Drag duplicate image layer to top of base layer, overlapping the two layers and matching up stitches (this could take some trial & error. You can lower the opacity of the top layer to help see it more easily). 5. Use a layer mask with a soft edged brush at about 30% to mask out the harsh edge of the top image layer. 5. Flatten and save as jpeg.

My daughter and I went to Fibre Frolic too. There were so many people, so many booths, that eventually we got tired and asked one of the vendors who was from out of town (and difficult to see) and we went to those booths before we left. I got about a dozen business cards so we can shop on line later.
