💖 ok, when you talked about sharing your freezer meals with others in your neighborhood, and mentioned someone recently divorced, my eyes welled up. I’ve been divorced for 10 years now and at the front end of that season, I had a friend deliver dinner for me and my children. It was as if I was receiving a hug. 💖
ThankYou for sharing that personal comment. I agree- having someone thinking about you and your family at a personally difficult time is as good as a hug. Especially at times when feeding the kids isn’t at the forefront of your thoughts.
Jody thomas, God bless the folks with giving 💕 They bring a spark of joy to those less fortunate. It is heartwarming to hear that it meant alot to you that they went out of their way to show you love, especially when divorce can make one feel such a void of the love they once thought they knew. God bless you too, dear.
I feel you. I look in my fridge & cupboards & see a BUNCH of food but then go drive-thru 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I have half of this stuff already. I might impress myself this week & COOK & Save money while I'm at it! 😂😂
@@gothprincessheidi as a mom to 4, I find comments like that to be rude and hurtful. I know it was a joke; I love humor… just not about having babies. You don’t know the journey some women have been on to get there!
@@schwingyshwoo I did that and I cried scooping them out 🤣 it hit me hard my hubby and I had to alternate who put them into the freezer bag because our eyes were burning
This channel is SO underrated! This woman puts so much effort into her videos and their always informational. Idek how she had time for all this. Crazy. Shoutout to her !
Also I love having freezer meals ready to go for others. Your not feeling well? Let me bring you a meal! No greater joy than being prepared to make someone’s life easier.
When I make my homemade pot pie, I double the filling and freeze 1/2. Next time I want some, I thaw out the bag of filling and either pour it into a pie crust or whip up some quick biscuits to bake on top of it. So easy and my family loves it.
Hey Christine, found your channel recently, loving it! Looking back, I think the day this video came out was the day a family friend brought us a homemade lasagna while my mom was in the hospital. Thanks for encouraging people to share with those in need. You might never realize just how much a simple meal can mean when life goes wrong.
I love being efficient and meal prepping definitely helps when things are busy. The cool thing is that you can adjust any of these recipes to your own taste. I try to avoid white flour products, so I would just switch to whole grain versions of tortillas, pasta, and bread. Thank you so much for this!
To avoid crying while cutting onions I was taught that as soon as you start to feel it, run your tap on as cold as it will get, rinse your knife and you'll stop. Sometimes it helps to rinse your hands too. Always works for me
I love doing freezer meals. I don't do that many when I do them since it's just me but it makes it easier for when i do get really lazy. Today I made some meatballs and the will go in the freezer since I made a meatloaf and potatoes for lunches and then a breakfast casserole. I like mixing the mild sausage and sweet sausage or the mild and hot
So sweet of you to make meals for others. You have such a kind and caring heart. Plus your videos are the best. They’re some of my favorite to watch and you give lots of great ideas for people who are stuck in a dinner rut or trying to keep it budget friendly :)
By the way, Stubbs Original BBQ sauce is the lowest carb store shelf sauce that doesn't use artificial sweetners. Its got 7 carbs per serving, G.Hughes has 2. But the the flavor of Stubbs is so fabulous its well worth the 5 extra carbs per serving. I just cut carbs deepervin the veggie side of the meal to balance it out.
I also find that when you want to freeze slow cooker/crock pot meals flat frozen never fits. I freeze it in a ziploc but set it in a large can. Basically making cylinders for the freezer
I find if I chill my onions in the fridge then I don't cry as much when I chop them. But, I just bought a Starfrit (?) Chopper that does half the onion with a close of the lid. Its amazing!
I was watching this video in my home office where i have an alexa show and when your son asked Alexa the measeurment questions my alexa answered it . LOL Love your videos. ;)
Love the quickie frozen dinners. But I need more preparation instruction for the chicken pot pie. I put it all in my freezer bag, but how do you assemble it? I know you need a canna biscuits, but what’s the specific instructions? Do you bake it? Do you bake the biscuits first and then add the chicken mixture? Directions please.
Best video yet! Sitting here in chemo laughing! I fully intend on buying the recipes and prepping for my family for the next chemo round. Thanks for all you do!!
I really like your attitude and giving nature. I recognize how saving any time is a win for people but some of these.... if it's only 3 already prepped ingredients do you really need to use a zip lock for it? Reducing plastic is a little more important than saving the 3 seconds it took you to throw it in the bag...
Christine, I've developed a tomato allergy, and my kid "hates" teriyaki (she'll tolerate it at times, but ya know, kids. So, I'd love to see more ideas that don't involve tomato products (BBQ sauce, ketchup, tomatoes, etc). I know there's good ol' cream of mushroom soup, but that gets boring. I still love watching your videos!
@@FrugalFitMom once I saw the horrors of Chinese garlic(which is almost allthe jars and squeeze tubes) and the garlic without roots in the grocery store... I will NEVER used prepped garlic again... im all about hacks where I can... there are 2 documentary on netflux and then I researched it! I was said my garlic cheat was taken from me! Lol but now I just use my 16 year old pampered chef press! To easy!
Maybe saute some of the onions instead of putting raw onions in everything. Easy enough to do after browning the ground meat. Brings out their sweeter taste and less irritating for sensitive tummies.
