Shopping is heaven

Good haul. I think it’s easier to bring us shopping with you. Gives us a look into what other people buy. I agree about the fish sticks. It’s been close to 20 years since I had any I liked. More of a chicken girl. I would love to eat blue cheese like your family does. Because of my sever penicillin allergy I avoid it. I have ate it in small amounts. But my throat swelled up so much one day when out eating a salad with my family. Well. It was bad. I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room. I was blessed that day. So I go cold turkey.

Spatchcock is when they split a whole chicken and sorta butterfly the whole dang thing. :D It just sounds extra fancy. lol I edit to add, am I the only one that can't find 409? Just simple 409! I can't find hide nor hair of it anywhere. I had just bought a bottle in February (pre-'rona) and now I'm getting down to the last dregs. I use Mrs. Meyers for my counters but sometimes 409 is all you need.

Watching what you eat.... stay away from processed breaded chicken strips, and look for sugar feee things. Makes a difference

My wife and I are going through a really rough time, not only financially, but in our marriage, and one of the things that no matter what always used to bring us together was our grocery shopping and imagining all of the different foods and meals we were planning for. Salads did look good. I actually enjoy going to the market but with a list. I like to get what I need and a few snacks. My granddaughter loves when I make my list because it includes her munchies for TV when she visits.

It's just a method of removing the backbone (not the breast bone) and flattening the chicken to cook more evenly, whether it be in the oven or on the grill. The are a few RU-vid videos of "how to's" which take the mystery out of it. And my only thing with any of the ones I watched.. always tuck the wing tips back towards the underneath side of the chicken..prevents burning and overcooking. Best wishes!

Spatchcock chicken is the way it is cut. Basically they break the breast bone down the middle but they don’t cut through the breast meat. This totally flattens the breast.

I cannot believe how much vegetables cost in the US. Here in Italy a kilogram (2 pounds) of tomatoes is approx. 1€ (more or less 1$), carrots are 1.6 euros per kilo and romain lattuce is 1.68€ per kilo. On the other hand meat is cheaper in the Us

" Ultimate Fish Sticks" thats what they are called. A big bag. Its pretty good alot of actual flaky fish w a layer of some kind of sauce under the fish in each stick. Maybe you would enjoy those. 😁

Guys, I need your opinion on something. This will seem off topic, but trust me, it does involve grocery stores. My 20-year-old brother is graduating from high school this year. Yes, 20 and high school. See, he has a learning disability and is on the Austism Spectrum, and together, it brought him down two grades. Oh, sure, he's a very hard-working student, but his grades can be low at times, because his learning and comprehending skills are limited. Now, he's thinking about going to college (and which ones would be good), but not after this summer; no, he wants to work full-time first, so that if he goes to college next year, he'll have enough money, whether he gets a job as a student or not. He thinks job first, then college, as two separate tasks for his sake. He takes a long time with assignments and thinks a job could partially deprive his needed homework time. Well, I don't think he should go to college at all. Imagine the struggles he'd have, especially with his grades. And that's _IF_ he gets into college. I don't want him to apply to a school and get rejected. I don't think he's ready to be out in the real world, where his hopes can be smashed into pieces. That's why I want him working at a grocery store near our parents' (and his) house: easy access, totally doable tasks for his type, etc. He worked at a grocery store last summer and did just fine, and now there's a different one that's hiring. I want him to work there (or any store, I really don't care) so that he's safe and won't get disappointed in the real world. Now, my sister and neighbor are mad at me for expressing this. I don't know why. And they won't even tell me; they said I should know what the problem is, or at the very least, figure it out myself. Well, I can't. What am I doing wrong? Looking out for my brother? Wanting him to be safe and in a position he can manage? Caring enough that he doesn't get rejected or disappointed in the real world? What is their problem?
