It jumped timing that why it back fierd the time chain probably need to be readjusted but now you need both guide and get a new cam both should be about 40$ ish for everything you will need both guide even for the new parts.😉🛠️💯✌️💪✌️🏍️

I ordered the 190 engine and the 4 valve 212 kit the same day 8-3-23, engine came like 2 weeks ago, it’s looking like the 212 kit will be here Friday just gotta get new guides

Haha... "trial and error / R&D" This one time I put my pistons in backwards. Guess what... it was not good. There's no way for me to tell for sure, obviously... but I would say that it backfired because the bolts broke and not that they broke because it backfired. A backfire doesn't cause any extra strain on the cam. If anything it causes pressure on the back side of the valve and relieving some pressure. Maybe you don't care, but if you do some CSI investigating, you will be able to tell of the bolts were sheared off (highly unlikely) or if they fatigued from strain, or if they were overtightened. From what I can see, they weren't sheared off, as that would have happened at the surface of the cam, leaving a nice clean cut mark. I would also leave a flat spot on one side of the bolts where the sprocket pushed against the threads and possibly thread indentations on the holes of the sprocket. To tell if it was from too much torque, you can take the broken bolt and either use a thread pitch gauge or another good bolt, and see if the threads still mesh up. If the bolt was over torqued, the threads will be stretched near the break. I never torque anything smaller than a M8 for this reason. Not sure if that's what happened, but it's very easy to over do it if anything goes wrong. I'm assuming you know about removing the bolt and spring form the tensioner and then releasing the ratchet mechanism before installing.... and only installing the spring and ratcheting the tensioner into place after the M6 bolts are tightened. What is that silver car? My guess is either a BRZ thing or a Genesis... but I can't tell.

I was thinking it backfired and cause it because it revved up to like 4k and with the cdi and flywheel I have it will advance the timing I think something like 12 or 16 degrees… and then from 4k rpm it basically stopped, seems like maybe a combination of too much torque for Chinese bolts and the backfire and the bolts had “bite marks” from the cam gear… The silver car is a 2013 scion frs (American version of the Toyota 86) but same exact thing as a Subaru brz and I have parts arriving every week for it… prob make a video on it but that’s a ways out

@@Trevorkloida Ok... that's what I thought it was. My buddy BJ was seriously looking at buying a new one a few years ago, but never pulled the trigger. Cool car... looks like it is stanced out quite a bit and has some stretched tires... Also looks like someone did a lot of work to flare out those rear fenders.

I really like the car, I’ve had it for like 18 months and have had zero issues, it has a little over 100k miles, only things I’ve done to it were stereo and speakers because oem was trash… the guy I bought it from put the eBay wide body kit on and wheels, however it’s not fast and needs more all around power but it handles corners very well which is why I got it… my friend took me for a ride in his and after about 30 miles of curves I was sold… bought one the next week…

A air fuel ratio guage and o2 sensors so you no what it is 12.5- 13; should be in that range

I actually bought an o2 gauge for my car early because I planned on using that to tune the 190! That’s funny you say that! This whole project has a long way to go yet, going to make an exhaust that actually fits, and tuning obviously hah… and there’s a few other things I’d like to do as well

@@Trevorkloida if you did Grom fuel injection and wire harness with a aracer ECU and o2 afr set up you could control your air fuel ratio using you cell phone alone with a fuel chart and be able to control your ignition set up it's o n e sick set up . Definitely need away to see the ratio to be able to take advantage of the parts 🛠️💯🏍️👍💪✌️🍻

I saw something about that, and needing a certain flywheel… I’d like to look into all that more, I assume I’d need a bunch of stuff but it would be worth it for sure… stand alone ecu, fuel injector/pump, tps, o2, rpm, crank position, cam position prob don’t need, spark trigger signal… I think that would do it…

@@Trevorkloida yup there a kit and with a Cambo of Grom parts to build a fuel injection set up for the 190cc with a aracer ECU 💪👍🛠️💯🤔😉🏍️

@@Trevorkloida yup almost every thing that you will need is off a stock grom except the aracer ecu and injector it needs the upgraded grom one. And there a upgraded ignition \electrical kit for the fuel injection if you Google 190cc Daytona fuel injection. 😉
