Groove Experiments with Nord Drum 3P #1 

Thanks for your kind words! I've got to say that the Drum 3P is like the king on this pad sensitivity subject, which is the main reason I chose it over Roland SPD etc. It is almost at Yamaha V-Drums level I must say.

Yeah presets are awesome. Usually you need some eqing tho if you wanna have a good mix. But it's alrite without the eq also.

@@tarikkeskin Is it really a Yamaha or a Roland? I cannot find a Yamaha KD-10 but I could find a Roland KD-10.

@@tarikkeskin no worries! What about the kick pedal itself? It looks like a Cobra 200. Is it somehow fastened to the KD-10? Are they compatible that way?

@@sir-gamesalot It is an iron cobra rolling glide from 2006 or so. Yeah the KD-10 has like piece that is like the bass drum hoop, so every pedal can attach to it with no problems.

Hey thank you. That's correct, you basically get 7 pads. You can use it to do stuff like double kick patterns or stuff. Or ghost notes with your hand on the kick etc.

I think this stealing is refered to "note stealing". Note stealing means that a new note that exceeds the polyphonic capability of the unit will steal (mute) the first played note. So technically even though you have 7 pads to trigger 7 different sounds only 6 individual sounds can be heard at the same time. Of course with drum sounds that are fairly short by their nature and with two hands and a leg this is hardly a problem at all.

Hi, I am using a Roland KD-10 for the trigger, and Tama Iron Cobra (old model) for the pedal. I made a stand myself using the base of a cymbal stand, with a Tama Multi Clamp connecting the Nord and the stand. Enjoy your Nord!

Hi, the kick trigger is always ilnked to channel one.

@@tarikkeskin Thanks for the reply! so my understanding pad 1 is technically pad 7 in your configuration? I'm confused because you seem to playing a different sound on pad 1 apart from the kick! I want to invest in one so if you can use pad 1 differently from the kick then I'm all in! haha thanks again!

@@djboost123 Ah, you know the thing is that you can change the pad layout in the nd3p. In the layout that I'm using pad1 isn't the kick, but the tom I think.

Hello there. I am doing fine thanks! Yeah they are all presets, about 200 that are inside the machine.

This is the Roland KD-10. Yes you can connect a twin pedal to it, but not two separate pedals.

ok, that is cool.. it seems from the way you play that a high hat pedal is not needed... I will go lok for a twin pedal ... but the bass kick you use, do you think that is the best choice for a twin pedal or are there other bass pedals that might fit a twin pedal better that you can recommend me to look into? I just got the Nord Dum 3p now.. I looked since may to get a good price and a bartender who also is a DJ producer wanted to sell a totally new one for 430 euro to me.... it sale for about 700 euro in store here. so felt like it came naturally to me to get it now! :) what loop pedals can be good with the Nord Drum 3p? I seen people use Soft step2, what do you think of that one? is out of stock now but if there ar otehr ones pleased let me now what you think one should consider... and how if I wanna record would I best get a back track playing like you do and also be recored onto Logic Pro together with the nord drum playing? sorry if my question , I am totally new to digital instruments and recording... I played d acoustic drums since I was 7 and that is what I know, but I love the many sounds you can make with the Nord Dum compared to a normal drum pad like the Rolands... any time you got to reply with advices and complimentary devices to connect to the Nord Drum 3 please let me know...
