This is a piece that I have entitled "Groove", choreographed to the title-inspiring playing of Nate Smith. When I listen to Nate play, I am always in awe of how present the groove and the melody are in his instrument. This solo track is a prime example. His drums sound as if they themselves are dancing.
Choreographing "Groove" is 1/2 transcription of Nate's playing and 1/2 feeding the melody that he has already established. My goal was for my dancing to add to the musical journey that Nate takes us on. It was a very fun piece to create. I hope you enjoy.
