In this video i wanted to show you the difference between a grooved end connection and a threaded connection. The make this style of grooved end connection for various valves. I will show you a ball valve with the grooved connection.
The main difference between a grooved and threaded connection is pretty simple. A threaded valve with have a threaded port and the grooved end will have a groove that uses a special oring and clamp.
The main benefit of a grooved connection is easy installation and quick access to your system. With the grooved system you have to make sure every pipe, valve or instrument will need to have the same type of groove. The oring and clamps are an additional component that you must have to make the grooved connection work.
