Great job with this man. I have been sort of studying some cadence writing lately. You have lots of great ideas and fun parts in this! Love the tenor skanks especially.
The High-school drumline I'm in has a cadence that sounds very similar and it's called loveshack, probably the most liked cadence we have everyone in the band knows it!
Skate Raptor 1 trombone player here but a future indoor percussionist (I’ll probably just play bass guitar but ya know) I want to learn percussion notation
The Facebook link has been closed the phone number in Washington does not answer and I have sent an email to the address at the end of the video no response. I think VDL has shut down and disappeared
Honestly man, I don't know how to help you, but musescore is free and pretty easy to use, you can probably re-write this piece by ear, plus using the first few lines shown in the beginning of the video.
hey I went to click on the facebook link but it appears as though that link is invalid or expired is there any new/current way to contact the owner/producers so I could request a score?
the cymbal sizz sucks being on the down beats instead of the up beats at 0:52 should be a crime 😂 that's like the cymbal version of clapping on 1 and 3
When I was in marching band, the percussion section was the biggest problem in the entire band. Always getting everyone in trouble, playing when they shouldn't, being the biggest screwups, just being loud and obnoxious, and I always kinda hated them. However, lately as an adult, I've been checking some videos on drum mechanics and various things, and first off, the sheet music is unreadable to me, I have no idea how it works, but they sure do. Second, drums are so much more complicated than something like a woodwind... with a saxophone, you generally just put it in your mouth and blow. *GENERALLY* ... I don't want woodwinds getting angry, I'm not trying to start fights. But I failed to see just how technically complicated percussion was, and I almost feel sorry about that.
As a trumpet player since 6th grade who plays trump in college marching band now and who did Bass 5 for 3 seasons of highschool, 1 fall 2 winter, I generally approve of this message, but it depends on the person. Anyone can pick up percussion and all the techniques easy if they pay attention and want to grow and same with wind but that same person could struggle with the opposite, but generally though, yes
If you guys want to learn my cadence I’ll show you the sheet music just go to my channel and it will say my schools cadence and comment “I wanna learn” and I’ll teach u
